No Live View On Blink Doorbell? (Here’s the Easy Fix!)

Considering the large number of people who have no live view on Blink doorbell, we have created this complete solution guide.
- The main suspect here is weak or unstable internet connections!
However, if you have already checked the Wi-Fi, there could be other causes for your Blink doorbell’s broadcast failure.
So, by the end of this guide, you will know all of the solutions.
Why is There No Live View On Blink Doorbell? – 7 Solutions!
The device allows you to wirelessly manage all Blink devices in your system by routing them to Blink servers.
Important: In order to access your Blink doorbell’s live feed, you must have installed the Blink sync module first.
1. Access Blink’s Live View Correctly

The first step is to attempt all possible ways to access the live feed of your Blink doorbell.
The standard way of accessing it is through the Blink mobile app, but you could also use a motion notification or an Android device home screen that’s paired with your system.
1.1 How to Access Blink Live Via App?
To access the Blink doorbell’s live feed directly, open the Blink app and press the “Live” button at the bottom.
Then, press “Play” and if the button is not visible, your doorbell might be in an “Event Response” mode, which should only last for several minutes.
1.2 How to Access Blink Live Via a Notification?

If the Blink doorbell sends a motion notification to your smartphone, you can press it to get automatically redirected to the live feed.
In order to receive a notification, you must make sure that the motion detection feature is enabled within the doorbell’s settings.
1.3 How to Access Blink Live Via a Home Screen?
First, go to your home screen and ensure the doorbell is added as a viewable device.
If the doorbell is paired, there should be a “Blink” icon on the homepage of the panel, and upon pressing it, you will be redirected to the live feed.
Note: Each Android home screen has different setup instructions, but a QR code is most commonly used for adding devices.
2. Check Doorbell’s Connection Status

The leading cause why you can’t see the live view on blink camera is because of a weak Wi-Fi signal or connection problems.
Perhaps, your camera has lost connection to the network or a temporary shut-down of the router has forcibly caused it to unpair.
2.1 How to Check Blink Doorbell Connection Status?
- Open the Blink app and locate the doorbell’s thumbnail.
- Press the “More” button in the corner of the thumbnail.
- Now, go to “General Settings” → “Network” to proceed.
- After that, check the status under “Connection to Wi-Fi”
There could be a total of three different statuses, such as “Good,” “Medium” and “Bad” connections.
If the status says “Bad” or “Medium,” we recommend reconnecting the camera.
2.2 How to Change the Blink Doorbell’s Wi-Fi?

- Tap “More” on the Blink doorbell’s thumbnail.
- Go to “General Settings” → “Change Wi-Fi.”
- Wait until all available networks are scanned.
Once all of the networks in your camera’s range appear, pick your household’s Wi-Fi network again and enter the password as stated in the instructions.
Notice: Blink cameras do not support 5 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity!
3. Resynchronize the Sync Module
Most Blink doorbells require a Sync Module in order to provide a live feed through the mobile application.
If a synchronization error occurs, your camera may be temporarily brought offline because it has lost connection to the Blink servers.

Follow these steps to resync the Blink doorbell:
- Open the Blink app on your iPhone or Android.
- Press the “+” icon located in the upper corner.
- Tap “Sync Module” from the “Add Device” page.
- Scan the QR code on the sync module’s panel.
- Follow the instructions within the app for a setup.
So, even if your sync module’s profile already exists within the app, you will rewrite all of the settings upon re-adding the device.
Tip: Unplug the sync module from the power supply for ~60 seconds to address underlying issues with the device.
4. Relog from your Blink Profile
Another effective solution when there is no live feed on your Blink doorbell is to ‘relog’ from your user profile.
Although there could be server maintenance, your device may’ve been temporarily blacklisted or went through connection issues with the Blink servers.

Here’s how to sign out and sign in from Blink on your phone:
- Go to “Settings” by tapping the gear icon in the app.
- Scroll to the bottom and press on “Logout of Blink.”
- Confirm the logout and wait until you are redirected.
- Re-enter the account’s credentials and tap “Sign In.”
Tip: If you’re unable to recall some of the credentials, use the “I Forgot My…” button right beneath the password field.
5. Address Issues with the Network
A potential network issue could be slowing down the connection of the Blink doorbell and thus, cause persistent live view problems.
A variety of practices can target issues with the network, such as rebooting the router, reducing the bandwidth usage, and of course, checking in with your ISP.

Here’s what to try on your end:
- Unplug the router’s power adapter for 60 seconds.
- Reduce the number of paired devices to the Wi-Fi.
- Temporarily suspend all downloading & uploading.
- Try reducing the security factor of the router’s Wi-Fi.
- Restore the router to a factory default configuration.
All of those can help significantly with eliminating network issues. If the problems persist in any way, it is time to get in touch with your ISP and discuss the problem thoroughly.
6. Reinstall the Blink Mobile App

Ultimately, your Blink doorbell not showing live view could be because of an underlying issue with the application.
The only way to fix it is to cleanly reinstall the app on your smartphone.
- If you’re using an Android, go to “Google Play Store” → “Profile” → “Manage Installed Apps” → “Blink App” → “Uninstall.”
- If you’re using an iPhone, go to “App Store” → “See pending updates and release notes” → “Blink App” → “Uninstall.”
Once you’re done with the uninstallation, find the app via the store’s search field and download it again, before you’re able to sign in to your profile.
7. Reset Blink to Factory Defaults

Still, no live view on Blink doorbell? Don’t worry–the big gun method is here!
If the “Live” button is still not appearing or perhaps the broadcast is still refusing to load, it’s time for a factory reset.
All of your camera’s system settings and configurations will be erased, but there’s a likable chance to resolve the live feed issue.
- To factory reset Blink, eject the batteries from the compartment on the back and hold the “RESET” button right above the latch for 5–10 seconds.
There won’t be any indication that the doorbell has started the factory reset, but do not reinsert the batteries for at least 30 seconds after releasing the button.
Note: If your Blink doorbell live feed is still missing, it’s probably a defect with the camera, so get in touch with Blink support or claim your warranty.
