Beats Studio Pro Connection Failed? (Get It Fixed Fast!)
If you keep running into the “Beats Studio Pro connection failed” message, it is almost certain that your headset requires some troubleshooting.
Well, the error message is often related to an improper activation of the pairing mode, charging issues, and even wireless interference.
Let’s guess no further and start excluding possibilities one by one!
How to Fix the Beats Studio Pro Connection Failed Error?
Note: ZontSound highly recommends downloading the Beats app from the Google Play Store if you are using the headset with an Android smartphone.
1. Pair the Beats Studio Pro Correctly
There is a specific Bluetooth pairing sequence for the Beats Studio Pro on both Android and iOS devices.
To discover the headset through your device (even if it is not a smartphone), you must first activate the headset’s “PAIRING” mode.
Follow these steps to pair the Beats Studio Pro correctly:
- Activate the Bluetooth function on your iPhone or Android.
- Hold “System” on your headset until the LED light flashes.
- Select Beats Studio Pro from the list of Bluetooth devices.
- Follow the pairing instructions specific to your smartphone.
Now, the Bluetooth profile of the Beats Studio Pro must display “Connected” in the settings of your device.
If not, tap or click on the profile to re-send the connection request and pair again.
If you’re experiencing connection issues, refer to our guide on Beats Studio Pro Connection Failed? (Get It Fixed Fast!).
2. Disconnect All Other Bluetooth Devices
Perhaps any interference from other Bluetooth devices paired with either the Beats Studio Pro headphones or your device might prevent the pairing.
So, you must disconnect all other devices from your Beats and phone before re-attempting to pair.
2.1 How to Disconnect Beats Studio Pro:
Access the Bluetooth settings of all devices you have previously used with the Beats Studio Pro or check the Beats app on your Android smartphone.
Manually unpair each connected (or existing) device profile and hold the headset’s “System” button to reactivate the pairing mode.
2.2 How to Disconnect your Phone/PC:
On your phone, Windows, or Mac device, access the Bluetooth settings, select each paired device, and click Disconnect or Forget.
Ensure none of the registered Bluetooth profiles have a “Connected” label next to them, to verify there are no existing connections.
Note: We also recommend resetting the network settings of your Android or iPhone.
3. Forget & Re-add the Beats Studio Pro
So, if you are facing the connection failed Beats Studio Pro error even after disconnecting all Bluetooth devices, ZontSound recommends forgetting and re-adding the headphones.
Once connected, the Beats Studio Pro will be automatically registered in the settings of your device.
3.1 How to Re-Add Beats Studio Pro on Android:
- Open the “Settings” app on your Android smartphone.
- Go to Connected devices → Connection preferences.
- Locate the Beats Studio Pro Bluetooth profile in the list.
- Press “Forget” or “Unpair” to remove the device profile.
3.2 How to Re-Add Beats Studio Pro on iPhone:
- Open the Settings app and tap “Bluetooth.”
- Find the Beats Studio Pro profile in the list.
- Tap the info icon next to the device profile.
- Select “Forget this Device” for the removal.
After removing the profile, re-pair your Beats Studio Pro by holding the System button until the lights flash, as referenced in solution #1.
Forgetting the Beats from your smartphone erases all preconfigured Bluetooth profile settings.
Note: If you are on Windows or Mac, use the start menu or Finder to access the Bluetooth tab.
4. Pair the Beats From a Closer Distance
Well, if the headset still fails to connect, distance or interference might be the culprit.
Keep the Beats Studio Pro and device within 30 feet and away from all other Bluetooth devices that also communicate wirelessly.
Such devices can be other Bluetooth devices, routers, and RF radios. Then, hold the System button until the Beats Studio Pro lights flash and select the headset from the Bluetooth settings of your device.
If the setup fails, then the issue is probably related to improperly configured audio settings.
5. Check the Beats Pro for Charging Issues
If the headset does not charge sufficiently, it could lead to a persistent problem with the pairing and the audio output of the headset.
The issue is often with the charger, equipment, or even the power source, so keep reading as we go through all of the possible causes.
Step #1 Check the Connections:
Check if the USB Type-C connects securely with both the adapter and your headset.
Clean the USB-C port of the headset out of dust or debris by carefully using a Q-tip or a toothpick.
Step #2 Change the Power Source:
Connect the charger of the headset to a different wall outlet to rule out a faulty power source.
ZontSound also recommends charging the headset via a USB port on your computer or laptop, only using the USB Type-C cable.
Step #3 Replace the Equipment:
Well, if nothing else helps, then replace the USB-C cable and adapter with a known working set compatible with the Beats Studio Pro.
Then, try to charge again for at least ~30 minutes, power on the headphones, and reactivate the pairing mode by holding “System”.
Quick Note: You can track the charging status of the Beats Studio Pro with the built-in indicator!
6. Update the Beats Studio Pro Firmware
If the Beats Studio Pro not connecting issue persists, the cause is often an outdated firmware of the headset, resulting in pairing compatibility issues.
Hence, updating the Beats firmware on the iPhone, Mac, or Android can address the pairing problem and restore your headset functionality.
6.1 How to Update Firmware on iPhone or iPad:
- Go to Settings and tap your Beats Studio Pro name at the top.
- Scroll to the About section and check the Version number line.
- If an update is available, follow the on-screen steps to download.
6.2 How to Update the Firmware on Mac:
- Open the Apple menu and navigate to System Settings.
- Click your Beats Studio Pro in the sidebar to view details.
- Now, locate the Version number and update if prompted.
6.3 How to Update Firmware on Android:
- Open the Beats app and navigate to the device homepage.
- Scroll to “Under the Hood” and check the Firmware version.
- Tap Update if available and follow the on-screen instructions.
Note: Verify that your smartphone or computer is securely connected before updating.
7. Use a Wired (USB Type-C) Connection
If you are still unable to pair the headset over Bluetooth, then switching to a wired USB Type-C connection can bypass all potential wireless issues of the Beats Studio Pro.
All you need is a functional USB Type-C cable that is compatible with the input on the phone and the Beats headset.
Connect your Beats Studio Pro to your device using the USB Type-C cable and plug the other end into your device’s USB-C port.
Then, test the audio playback to confirm functionality, and if successful, use this method until Bluetooth issues are resolved through further troubleshooting.
8. Reset your Smartphone Network Settings
If the Beats Studio Pro fails to connect with your iPhone or Android, then you could resolve the problem by restoring the network settings.
All Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular data will be erased from your phone, and you will have to reconnect the Beats Studio Pro manually, so be cautious.
8.1 How to Reset Network Settings on iOS:
- Open the Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap General → Transfer or Reset [Device].
- Press on Reset → Reset Network Settings.
- Enter the device passkey to initiate the reset.
8.2 How to Reset Network Settings on Android:
- Open Settings on your Android device.
- Scroll to System and press once to open.
- Select Advanced to view all of the options.
- Tap Reset options → Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
- Confirm the reset and test the Pro headset.
Note: Reconfigure the wireless settings of your phone before testing the headset.
9. Reset the Beats Studio Pro Settings
In case the “Beats Studio Pro connection failed” error is still there, a factory reset can resolve all underlying software glitches with the headphones by restoring default settings.
Remember that all registered Bluetooth devices and settings of the headset will be erased.
Follow these steps to factory reset the Beats Studio Pro:
- Hold the Power button on your Beats Studio Pro for ~10 seconds.
- Release when the LEDs blink white, then one red, about 3 times.
- Next, wait until the lights have stopped flashing to confirm the reset.
Note: Get in touch with Beats support if your headset is still experiencing pairing issues!
