Why Are My Beats Solo 4 Not Connecting? (Proven FIX!)
You are all set to enjoy your music, but suddenly, the Beats Solo 4 not connecting becomes the unexpected soundtrack to your day.
In most cases, it is nothing to worry about, and after several unsuccessful attempts, the headset will pair.
In other cases, however, the issue might require some extensive troubleshooting, such as inspecting the power supply, network settings, and Bluetooth profile.
How to Fix When Beats Solo 4 Not Connecting – Proven Solutions!
Note: Have you verified that the Beats Solo 4 is charged to maximum battery?
1. Re-activate the phone’s Bluetooth Feature
If your Beats Solo 4 are refusing to pair initially, you might have missed the Pairing mode activation.
It is extremely simple, as all you have to do is press and hold the “Power” button on the left earcup for about 4 or 5 seconds.
If the headset is successfully eligible to pair, the indicator on the side of the ear cup will illuminate, and you should be able to discover the headset on your smartphone.
2. Re-activate the Phone Bluetooth Feature
Your Beats Solo 4 might fail to connect over Bluetooth because of interference with other devices or issues with the Bluetooth functions.
Fortunately, you can address most temporary Bluetooth-related issues by reactivating the Bluetooth function of your smartphone.
2.1 How to Reactivate Bluetooth on iOS:
Open Settings on your iPhone, tap Bluetooth, set the feature to “Off” for 10 seconds, and then turn it back on.
Press the profile of the Beats Solo 4 to automatically reconnect and test.
2.2 How to Re-activate Bluetooth on Android:
Go to Settings on your Android device, select Connections → Bluetooth, switch it off, and wait for approximately ~10 seconds. Re-activate the Bluetooth and test the headphones.
3. Unpair Other Devices Over Bluetooth
Your Beats Solo 4 might not connect if the headset is already paired with another device or if your smartphone’s Bluetooth is already occupied.
So, the next step is to check if there are other existing devices paired with either the headset or your phone before reconnecting the Beats.
3.1 Unpair Devices From the Beats Solo 4:
You can turn off the Beats Solo 4 headset by holding the “Power” button for several seconds.
The LED light will go off once the headset is off, and only then can you release the button.
3.2 Unpair Devices From Your Smartphone:
- On iOS, go to Settings → Bluetooth, tap the “i” (Info) button next to paired devices, and select Forget This Device.
- On Android, go to Settings → Connections → Bluetooth, tap the gear next to each device, and choose Unpair to manually unregister.
Note: Repeat the instructions above for each currently-connected Bluetooth device.
4. Forget & Re-add the Beats Solo 4 Headset
An issue with the headset profile could be another reason for the Beats Solo 4 connection failed error, often due to outdated settings or interference.
For a quick resolution, ZontSound recommends forgetting and re-adding the headphones profile, either on your iOS or Android.
4.1 How to Forget Beats Solo 4 on iOS:
- Open the Settings application on your iPhone and press Bluetooth.
- Find Beats Solo 4, tap the “i” icon, and select Forget This Device.

4.2 How to Forget Beats Solo 4 on Android:
- Open the Settings and go to Connections → Bluetooth.
- Find Beats Solo 4, tap the gear icon, and choose Unpair.
- Restart your phone and reconnect with the headphones.
Alert: All custom settings registered in the Beats Solo 4 profile will be erased.
5. Update the Firmware of your Smartphone
The next step is to ensure your smartphone is on the most current firmware version by manually checking for updates via the settings.
Before starting, ensure your phone is securely connected to a Wi-Fi network, as using mobile data consumes large amounts of data.
5.1 How to Update Firmware on iOS:
- Go to Settings → General → Software Update on your iPhone.
- Now, wait until the iPhone scans for any newer firmware versions.
- Press on “Download & Install” to update the iPhone’s iOS version.
5.2 How to Update Firmware on Android:
- Open Settings > System > Software Update on your Android.
- Tap Check for Updates and download the latest OS version.
- Install the update and restart your phone to apply the changes.
Note: Ensure your smartphone maintains a secure connection to the internet (Wi-Fi or cellular data) before starting the update.
6. Check for Charging/Battery Calibration Issues
A power-related problem is almost certainly among the leading culprits for the persistent connection issues of the Beats Solo 4.
So, we have prepared multiple different methods to check and diagnose issues with the battery calibration and power of the headset.
Reconnect the Charger:
Start by disconnecting the USB Type-C cable from the adapter and the headset simultaneously.
Now, secure the cable on both ends and make sure it contacts the charging pins on either side.
Clean the Charging Port:
Clean all debris from the USB-C port using a Q-tip or a toothpick, then plug in the charger, and allow the headset to refill for 15–20 minutes.
Change the Power Source:
Switch to a different wall outlet or USB port on your computer, and reconnect the Beats Solo 4 to the charger again.
Wait for at least 15 minutes to pass to determine if the headset charges.
Use an Alternative Equipment:
Install an alternative USB Type-C cable, test, and if the issue is still there, replace the 12V power adapter as well.
Test with both components individually and then connect them at once.
Recalibrate the Battery:
Allow the Beats Solo 4 battery to fully drain, then recharge the headset from 0% up to 100% to recalibrate the battery.
This effectively resolves issues with the power and the charging.
Note: If the headset is registered, you can check the charging level via the Beats mobile app.
7. Reset your Phone’s Network Settings
If your Beats Solo 4 is not connecting to iPhone or Android, a network settings reset will almost certainly address the problem.
However, as a result of the reset, all Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular information will be erased from your smartphone permanently.
Note: You must re-add the Bluetooth profile of the Beats Solo 4 after the reset.
7.1 How to Reset Network Settings on iOS:
- Open the Settings application on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap General, then select Transfer or Reset [Device].
- Choose Reset, then press Reset Network Settings.
- Enter your passkey and confirm the network reset.
- Wait until the iPhone reboots and test the Beats Solo.
7.2 How to Reset Network Settings on Android:
- Access the Settings app on your Android device.
- Scroll to the bottom and press the System tab.
- Select Advanced to access the additional options.
- Start at Reset options → Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
Reconnect the Beats Solo 4 after the factory reset and reconfigure the necessary wireless information on your smartphone, erased by the network reset.

Note: Your smartphone or computer will require a stable internet connection to download updates.

If the Beats Solo 4 is not connecting despite attempting each of our solutions so far, it’s time for a clean factory reset.
The procedure is relatively simple and clears all registered Bluetooth devices from your Beats Solo 4 headphones.
