Why Are My Beats Studio Pro Quiet? (Easy Fixes Inside!)
Why are my Beats Studio Pro quiet? When I got them for the first time, I was also wondering why such high-end headphones must be loud, clear, and audible.
Fortunately, I was able to fix this quickly, so in this quick guide, I’ll show you how I did it.
The underlying fault could range from wireless connection timeouts, outdated firmware, or blocked speakers, to charging issues and compatibility problems.
The easiest way to find out what’s wrong is to go through all possibilities, so let’s get started.
How to Fix When the Beats Studio Pro Quiet – 9 Proven Fixes!
Note: Have you confirmed that the volume on all connected devices and apps has increased?
1. Experiment with Different Audio Tracks
To understand why your Beats Studio Pro is quiet, playing the different tracks or songs on the connected device is the first and vital step.
Sometimes, the audio file itself is the culprit, so this step allows you to identify whether it’s a frequency-related issue.
So, try playing a few different tracks from various sources, such as Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music, downloading music, or video from a personal gallery.
Then, determine if there is any difference in the volume and audio strength of your Beats Studio Pro.
Note: If the sound is still consistently low across all tracks, the issue likely lies with your Beats equipment or connected device.
2. Unpair Other Wireless Bluetooth Devices
Perhaps, Bluetooth interference from other wirelessly connected devices to the headset could be the reason for the quiet audio.
Well, a quick way to exclude this possibility is to unpair your Beats Studio Pro headphones from other devices.
Here’s how to unpair Beats Studio Pro from other devices:
2.1 How to Disconnect Android/iOS Devices:
- First, access each device previously paired with your headset.
- Open the Bluetooth settings on each device (phone, tablet, etc.)
- Wait for the Beats Studio Pro to appear in the paired devices list.
- Tap on the “i” icon or the gear icon in front of the headphones tile.
- Choose “Forget This Device” or “Unpair” and repeat these steps.
2.2 How to Disconnect From Mac/Windows:
- Open Bluetooth Settings or System Preferences → Bluetooth.
- After that, wait until the headset shows Beats Studio Pro in the list.
- Right-click (or control + click on Mac) and click Remove / Forget.
After unpairing, deactivate and re-enable the Bluetooth feature on your main Bluetooth device.
Then, play a track to test whether the headphones are offering full, loud, and consistent sound.
3. Clean Beats Studio Pro Speaker Grilles
With consistent daily usage of the Beats Studio Pro, dust, earwax, and tiny debris accumulate inside the speaker grilles.
This eventually turns into an obstruction that often blocks the sound.
So, if you are like me, trying different things and wondering “How to make my Beats Studio Pro louder?”, then cleaning the grilles will help.
Here’s how to clean the Beats Studio Pro grilles:
Tip: Conduct regular cleaning of the headset, and make sure you use your Beats correctly!
4. Forget and Re-Add Beats Studio Pro
Sometimes, a Bluetooth glitch could restrict the audio of the smartphone from transferring to the Beats effectively, causing it to go quiet, and sometimes even worse, cutting out of the output.
Fortunately, you can effortlessly resolve such problems by forgetting and then re-adding the headphones to your source device.
4.1 How to Forget Beats Studio Pro on Android:
- On your Android device, head over to the Settings menu.
- Tap on Connected Devices → Connection Preferences.
- Press on Bluetooth → gear icon next to Beats Studio Pro.
- Next, choose the “Forget this device” or “Unpair” button.
4.2 How to Re-add Beats Studio Pro on iOS:
- Head to “Settings” → Bluetooth on your iPhone device.
- Tap the “i” icon or settings gear next to Beats Studio Pro.
- Next, select “Forget This Device” or “Unpair” to proceed.
Next, turn off the Bluetooth function for a few seconds and activate Beats pairing mode before attempting to re-add the headset.
Tip: You should also attempt to pair Beats Studio Pro with an alternative audio device!
5. Test on Wired USB-C or 3.5mm AUX
Your Beats Studio Pro has a built-in DAC for wired connection.
If you have already attempted all of the above steps, just like me, and are still wondering why my Beats Studio Pro is so quiet, I recommend temporarily switching to a wired USB Type-C or 3.5mm connection.
Here’s how to use the audio cable with Beats Studio Pro:
It’s also recommended to increase and decrease the volume of your headphones multiple times to verify if everything is in order.
6. Switch to a Different Equalizer Profile
If connecting the Beats headphones to your audio device via USB-C cables does not resolve the issue, it’s recommended to test on an alternative EQ preset.
To switch to a different Equalizer profile, ensure your headphones are already using a wired USB-C cable connection and Bluetooth is turned off on your audio device.
Next, play the track on your device and then press the “System” button.
Pressing this button automatically switches the headphones between three built-in Equalizer modes (Beats Signature, Entertainment, Conversation).
Test on each equalizer and determine if the issue is still there!
Note: Some audio streaming platforms, such as Spotify, also have a built-in EQ.
7. Fully Charge the Beats Pro Headphones
Perhaps the Beats Studio Pro battery is low or nearly dead, which causes the reduced volume.
Fortunately, simply charging the headphones to 100% often restores everything to normal, including the audio output.
To fully recharge the headphones, connect the original USB-C cable to your Beats equipment and then to a high-power wall adapter (not a low-output laptop port).
Then, you must allow the headphones to charge for 2 hours until the battery LED comes up, and the indicator fills up.

8. Update the Firmware of Beats Studio Pro
Well, the incompatibility between your audio device software and the Beats Studio Pro version might be another culprit for why the Beats Studio Pro headphones are still quiet.
However, the Beats equipment updates automatically when connected to Apple devices, so unless you are using an Android, you can skip this step!
Here’s how to update the Beats Studio Pro:
Tip: Verify that the software of your end device is also up-to-date!
9. Reset Beats Studio Pro Headphones
If your Beats Studio Pro is quiet after everything you have tried, performing a full reset is one of the most effective solutions.
This solution erases the Beats Studio Pro from connected devices, clears out underlying errors, and reverts all settings to the default state.
Follow these steps to factory reset the Beats Studio Pro:
- Locate the Power button on the Beats headset.
- Push and hold the button for about 10 seconds.
- Release when the LED flashes white and red.
- Now, release the button after the third LED flash.
- Finally, reconnect the Beats Studio Pro and test.
Note: Contact the Beats Support team if neither of our solutions restored the headset audio!
