It could be the remote control, power supply, or firmware build that’s causing the system boot problem, so keep reading to find out more…
Hisense Roku TV Stuck On Logo Screen – Fixed in Easy Steps!
Note: Have you tried interacting with the Roku TV by pressing the “Home” or “Menu” button?
1. Reboot the Hisense Roku TV
A Hisense Roku TV can be powered on in two ways–the “Power” button from the remote control and the “Power” button on the TV’s panel.
So, we recommend using both to reboot the Roku TV and determine whether that manages to get it past the startup.
1.1 How to Turn On Roku Via the Remote?
Point the remote toward the TV’s receiver and press the “Power” button to illuminate the display.
However, don’t hold the power button for any longer than 3 seconds, as this will power off Roku.
1.2 How to Turn On Roku Via the Button?
Search for a small “Power” button located right underneath the center of the TV’s bottom bezel.
Sometimes it’s in the middle, other times it’s on the left or right side. Similar to using the remote, press the button for about 2–3 seconds to turn on the TV.
1.3 How to Power Cycle the Hisense TV?
If turning on the TV via the remote and the “Power” button both result in the same reboot cycle, then we recommend a power cycle.
All you have to do is unplug the TV’s power adapter from the outlet for a minimum of 60 seconds until all of the voltage is drained.
Then try turning it on!
Note: Have you tried waiting a few minutes to see whether the Roku system will eventually load–maybe the TV is trying to update.
2. Unplug ALL External Devices
We recommend testing the Hisense Roku TV’s startup after all external and third-party devices have been disconnected.
This includes audio systems, consoles, chargers, and anything that doesn’t belong to the Hisense Roku TV’s native setup.
A fault with either of these devices could brick the system of your TV and prevent it from getting past the loading screen.
So, unplug all devices connected to:
- HDMI
- Coaxial
- USB
- RCA
The only cable left connected to your Hisense Roku TV must be the power cable.
Keep in mind to also remove all external equipment from the TV’s power setup, such as dividers, strips, smart outlets, and such, to prevent power insufficiency.
3. Check Hisense for A/C Issues
The Hisense Roku TV stuck in a boot loop commonly appears due to power insufficiency, which can arise from your outlet, equipment, and cable connection.
There are a few steps you need to undertake:
#1 Secure the Adapter
Verify that the Hisense Roku TV power adapter is secured on both ends, and check for obstructions in the A/C port on the back of the TV.
Also, ensure the adapter goes all the way into the TV A/C port and that nothing is obstructing the connector.
#2 Change the Outlet
Connect the Hisense Roku TV to an alternative electrical outlet and use both power buttons individually to turn on the TV.
Wait for at least 10 seconds after plugging your TV into the new outlet before turning it on.
#3 Change the Adapter
Install a replacement 2-prong power adapter on your Hisense Roku TV to check if there’s an equipment-related fault.
These adapters are universal and easy to come across, so it shouldn’t be a challenge to find a replacement.
Note: Feel free to disconnect a 2-prong power adapter from a different TV in your home, even if in production, just to test whether your Hisense Roku TV will load up.
4. Manually Update Roku’s OS
All TVs using the Roku OS are designed to automatically check for newer firmware build every 24 to 36 hours.
So, if a recent firmware update has bricked the TV’s OS, then you should use a USB drive to manually rewrite the firmware files or revert to an older version.
All you’re going to need is:
- A 2.0/3.0 USB flash drive
- A connected PC or laptop
- An available TV USB port
Once you have all of that, plug the USB drive into your computer and proceed with the steps:
- On your PC, head to Roku’s official firmware website.
- Choose the brand of your Roku TV device (Hisense).
- Now, enter the TV’s hardware ID and serial number.
One way to check the ID and serial number is at “Settings” → “System” → “About”.
Since your TV is currently not responding, you can head to https://my.roku.com and check your TV product details as long as it has been added to your account.
- Click “Download Software” to download the .exe file.
- Copy the “update.roku” file to the PC USB flash drive.
- Now, wait until the firmware package is fully unpacked.
- Plug the USB drive into the Hisense Roku TV and wait.
- Enter the code that your TV displays on the computer.
The Hisense Roku TV should automatically switch to the USB flash drive’s source, as long as there are no other connected devices, and begin the update.
Note: If you see the “Update file could not be opened” or “Contents of the update file are invalid”, re-upload the firmware file and format the USB flash drive.
5. Test for a Backlight Problem
Some older Hisense Roku TVs may run into a problem with the backlight, especially if they have been used excessively in the last 24 hours.
This is a temporal glitch of the LCD panel that can be resolved with a simple input combination on the remote control:
- Press “Home” 5x times, then “Fast Forward” 3x times, and “Rewind” 2x times!
If your TV responds to the input, the backlight should reset, and the menu should start cycling.
Well, shortly after, the TV will power off and reboot after 15–20 seconds without any problems.
6. Check for False Remote Inputs
In some cases, a faulty or malfunctioning remote could misinput commands and cause your TV to reboot, power off, or even enter “Standby” on the logo screen.
There are several solutions for underlying remote faults, such as trying without batteries and testing with a new set of batteries.
Tip #1: Test Without Batteries
The first step is to power off the Roku TV and then remove both of the Hisense remote control’s batteries.
Use the built-in “Power” button under the front display panel to turn on the TV and check if it gets stuck on the loading screen.
Tip #2: Test Via New Batteries
Insert a fresh set of double-A or triple-A batteries into the Hisense Roku TV’s remote control.
Try inputting the system refresh function we’ve mentioned in solution #5: “Home” 5x times, then “Fast Forward” 3x times, and “Rewind” 2x times.
Tip #3 Remote Control Reset
Open the remote control’s battery compartments, eject both of the batteries, and then hold the “on/off Power” button for approximately 30 seconds.
This should reset the remote control’s programming and address underlying functionality issues.
Tip: You should also attempt moving the remote out of the Hisense Roku TV’s line of sight for several minutes.
7. Reset the Hisense Roku TV System
Corrupted or damaged system files could be the reason why the Hisense Roku TV is stuck on the logo screen.
That is why if you manage to perform the factory reset, this will help guarantee.
To perform a factory reset, you don’t need access to the TV’s OS menu, as there’s a built-in “Reset” button on the rear panel of the Hisense Roku TV.
All you need is a pin or a paper clip that will fit through the pinhole in order to press and hold the “Reset” button for about 15 seconds.
After the reset starts, your Hisense Roku TV will power off for several minutes and then reboot at the “Initial Setup” screen.
