It’s crazily annoying when you settle in for a movie night or a quick gaming session, only to find Hisense Roku TV screen mirroring not working… again…

Don’t worry–this will be the last time you’re troubleshooting it.

Screen-mirroring issues often occur as a result of improper network distribution, issues with the casting app, or a local network outage.

However, while the cause of the issue is unclear, we recommend reading our guide and slowly progressing through using the method of elimination.

Hisense Roku TV Screen Mirroring Not Working – Easy Fix!

Tip: Try forcing a system restart on the Hisense Roku TV by going to “Settings” → “System” → “System Restart”.

1. Check if the Screen Mirroring is Set Up

The first step is to verify that the Hisense Roku TV screen-mirroring feature is enabled and configured properly.

For that purpose, you must access the system settings and follow the correct instructions.

Follow these individual instructions to set up the screen mirroring:

  • Go to “System” → “Screen mirroring” → “Screen mirroring mode” → “Prompt
  • Go to “System” → “Advanced settings” → “Device connected” → “Enabled”.
  • Go to “System” → “Screen mirroring” → “Screen mirroring” → “Always blocked” → “None”.
  • Go to “System” → “Advanced settings” → “Control by mobile devices” → “Default”.

Find which of these instructions apply to the firmware version and interface of the Hisense Roku TV, and attempt to cast through your smartphone.

If the screen mirroring is set to “Prompt”, you must always receive a connection request message on the TV screen.

Note: Select “Allow” in the screen-mirroring request message to start mirroring casting from your mobile device.

2. Switch Both Devices to the Same Wi-Fi

switch both devices to same wi-fi

The next most important step is to connect the Hisense Roku TV and your casting device to an identical Wi-Fi network.

Switching the Wi-Fi is only effective if you have a dual-band router with a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency.

  • To change the Wi-Fi network of your Hisense Roku TV, access the “Settings” tab, then go to “Network” → “Wireless (Wi-Fi)” and select “Set up new Wi-Fi connection” from the settings.
  • To change the Wi-Fi of the casting device, access the “Settings”; after that, find the “Wi-Fi” page and select the Wi-Fi your Hisense Roku TV uses from the list.

Ensure that the network SSID and password are connected before pressing “Connect” on your Hisense Roku TV or casting device.

3. Cast to an Offline Hisense Roku TV

Some users suggest that the only way to get around this problem is to cast to the Hisense Roku TV while it is not connected to any network.

Well, you need to reset the TV network through the system options and then reboot the system for the changes to take effect.

Here’s how to reset the network options on Hisense Roku:

  1. Go to “Settings” from the homepage of the TV.
  2. Now, navigate to “Advanced System Settings”.
  3. Select “Network Connection Reset” in the tab.
  4. Press “Reset Connection” and then select “OK”.
  5. Wait until the TV’s network configuration resets.

Now, launch the app you are casting from and check whether the Hisense Roku TV appears in the network list.

If not, try disconnecting the casting device as well and attempting to cast while both devices are offline.

4. Enable “Fast TV Start” on Hisense Roku

The “Fast TV Start” is a Roku-specific function that increases the processing speed of the CPU at the cost of extra utilization if the TV feels slow.

This contributes to faster-loading applications, faster startup, and could eliminate potential issues relating to the delays and timeout problems.

The screen mirroring could be failing if the Hisense Roku TV is taking too long to connect with the smartphone.

So, enabling “Fast TV Start” could eliminate the mirroring problem effectively.

Here’s how to enable “Fast TV Start” on the Hisense Roku TV:

  1. Press the Home button on the Roku remote control.
  2. Next, navigate to “Settings” from the options menu.
  3. Now, select “System” and access the “Power” menu.
  4. Press “Fast TV Start” and set the option to “Enabled”.
  5. Save the changes and reboot the Hisense Roku TV.

We recommend disconnecting the Hisense Roku TV from the power supply for approximately 15–20 seconds to discharge the hardware.

The power cycle helps with any temporary issues that could affect the screen-mirroring functionality.

5. Cast Through an Alternative Platform

If both devices are on the same network, but the Hisense Roku TV is not showing up on screen mirroring, the casting app may be failing to synchronize with the local network list.

Hence, we recommend casting through a different streaming platform or player on your casting device to determine if that’s the problem.

cast through an alternative platform
  • Most streaming applications and services have a “Cast” button on the homepage!

So, attempt to cast through a variety of popular and trustworthy platforms on your smartphone or desktop computer/laptop.

As long as the device is connected to the network, the Hisense TV must appear as one of the casting options.

Notice: The cast option is only available after playing content on some platforms!

6. Update the Hisense Roku & Device OS

If the screen mirroring still fails to work, then it could be due to an outdated software version of either the Hisense Roku TV or the casting device.

How to Update the Hisense Roku TV:

How to Update the Casting Device:

  • If you’re on Windows or Mac, check for a newer version through the “System Update” or “Windows Update” settings and follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: Double-check if the Hisense Roku TV or your TV maintains a stable internet connection.

7. Troubleshoot Issues with the Network

troubleshoot issues with the network

A potential Wi-Fi network slowdown could cause issues with the Hisense Roku TV’s ability to screen-mirror with any local devices.

Before attempting to speed up the Wi-Fi connectivity, check your network’s exact download and upload speed in Mbps at speedtest.net.

Unplug the Network Router

Start by disconnecting the router’s power cord from the electrical outlet for approximately 30–45 seconds.

This is the estimated time your TV needs to discharge residual electricity.

Reduce Bandwidth Drainage

The next step is to disconnect unused devices from the network and prevent data-demanding procedures such as downloading and uploading, then determine if there are improvements.

Manage Settings in the GUI

Access the router GUI through a Wi-Fi or Ethernet-connected computer by using the default gateway found after typing “ipconfig” in the CMD (Command Prompt).

This only works on Windows computers, so if you can’t get it, check for the address on the bottom of your router.

So, copy the default gateway line, then paste it into the search field of your browser. Use admin/admin for access.

Now, check the following settings:

  • Network security: Set to WPA2 or WPA2/3 Mixed in the “Network” tab.
  • DHCP List: Check if the Hisense Roku TV appears under the DHCP list.
  • Connection from host: Check if the network is connected to the WAN.

Tip: Get in touch with the internet service provider if the Hisense Roku TV is disconnecting along with other devices.

8. Try Mirroring Via a Different Device

If the issue persists, try repeating the casting instructions through an alternative device on your local network.

It could be another smartphone or a computer, as long as it’s connected to the same network and Wi-Fi thread as the Hisense Roku TV.

Test through multiple platforms to determine if the fault is with the TV or the device you were attempting to cast from before this step.

If the TV connects with another device, we recommend resetting the network settings of your primary device.

9. Factory Reset the Hisense Roku TV

If nothing helps you and the Hisense Roku TV screen mirroring is not working, then a factory reset would be the best move.

The procedure will erase all of the TV settings, but it’s the best way to tell if the problem is on a software level.

Method #1: Reset Through the Settings

  1. Navigate to the “Settings” and enter the “System” tab.
  2. Select “Advanced system settings” within the options.
  3. Choose “Factory reset” → “Factory reset everything”.
  4. Follow the on-screen steps to reset the Roku TV system.

Method #2: Reset Through the Button

Find the small “RESET” button on the back of the LCD panel on the Hisense Roku TV.

Press and hold the button for 10–15 seconds to initiate the factory reset, then wait until the TV reboots and all of the content is cleared.

We hope you’ve learned something new today–best of luck!
