1. Restart your Skullcandy Earbuds
Sometimes, a temporal glitch within the earbud’s memory can prevent them from connecting to the device.
Such problematic glitches can be easily removed by simply restarting your earbuds.
This will clear any conflicting glitches and help establish a stable Bluetooth connection quickly.

- First, find the Control button on both earbuds.

Method #2 Restart With the Case:

- Open the lid and eject both earbuds from the case.
Once done, try to pair both earbuds with your Bluetooth device. If the pairing issue persists, try the next step in the guide.
2. Re-Sync the Bluetooth Connection
A disrupted Bluetooth connection could often cause issues with earbuds pairing.
Therefore, it is recommended to re-sync the Bluetooth connection by forgetting and pairing your earbuds again.
Doing this will resolve any Bluetooth-related issues and restore the overall earbuds functionality.
To re-sync the Bluetooth connection, follow these steps:
- From your smartphone’s Settings, go to “Bluetooth.”
- Locate and choose your Skullcandy earbuds’ name.
- Tap the “Info/i” icon and then tap “Forget this Device.”
- Info: If using Android, tap on the Cogwheel → Forget.
- Position both earbuds inside the case and close the lid.

When you’re ready, test whether your Skullcandy earbuds will pair together, and if not, test to pair them to another mobile device.
This may quickly reveal where the problem comes from.
3. Unpair Earbuds from Other Devices
- Skullcandy earphones are limited to a single Bluetooth device pairing.
If you have not removed or unpaired them from any previously connected devices and are now trying to pair them with a new device, the earbuds will not pair or partially connect.
To eliminate this possibility, check the Bluetooth connection on all previous devices you have paired your earbuds with.
If you find any active connections, forget the earbuds’ connection from those devices by using the steps we’ve discussed in the previous step.
Workaround: Move any devices you wish to keep the Bluetooth profile of your earbuds, outside the Bluetooth range when you’re pairing them.
4. Fully Recharge your Earbuds
Another possibility for your Skullcandy earbuds not pairing can be that the earbuds are partially or not fully charged.
Well, even having a low battery charge on your connecting device can also be the cause for your pairing problems, so it’s essential to ensure there is no ongoing throttling.
Follow these steps to recharge your Skullcandy earbuds:
- Verify your Skullcandy Buds case is fully charged.
- Correctly insert both earbuds into the charging case.
- Close the charging case lid to charge your earbuds.
- The LEDs should become solid red while charging.
- The LEDs will go off when the earbuds are charged.
Your Skullcandy earbud should take 30 minutes to 1 hour to charge to 100% inside the case, depending on the leftover charge.
Once the earbuds charge up, then attempt to pair them with your device to see whether the problem continues…
Want Fast Charging?
The Skullcandy earbuds can charge rapidly when connected to the case with a USB-C charging port and cable into the power outlet.
The cable approximately takes 10 minutes to fully charge the earbuds and provides 2+ hours of playtime.
Tip: In the meantime, also charge your Bluetooth playback device!
5. Clean the Buds Charging Contacts
Sometimes, any debris blocking the charging pins at the bottom of the charging case, or on the earbuds might lead to Skullcandy wireless earbuds not pairing together.
Thus, if nothing works out so far, cleaning the contact terminals will help, as long as you clean correctly and safely.
Here’s a guide to clean Skullcandy earbuds and case quickly:
- For the Ear Tips: Remove the ear tips and clean them using a damp cloth with soapy water and when the tips are dry, reseat them back to the earbuds.
- To Clean the Case: Damp a cloth or cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol, then, clean the case from the outside and inside thoroughly.
- To Clear Wax Buildup: Use a dry toothbrush or alcohol solution to gently clean the earbuds and make sure not to overstretch the buds.
Quick Tip: Closely check the constant terminals for obstructions, earwax, dust, or other particles that may be stuck.
6. Prevent Bluetooth Interference
It’s not excluded that your Skullcandy earbuds are not pairing to your device together because of ongoing Bluetooth interference.
This signal congestion can happen if you’re surrounded by other wireless devices such as routers, Bluetooth transmitters, and radio-frequency electronics.
So, a quick workaround and possible solution is to simply take your Skullcandy earbuds, and your phone outside (away from electronics) and try pairing.
If you succeed, congratulations, you’ve discovered the reason for the issue.
If not, well, signal congestion is not the culprit, so jump to the following step and, in fact, the most potent solution!
7. Reset and Re-Pair your Earbuds
Sometimes, when your Skullcandy earbuds can’t pair together, you may need to start over by resetting them and performing the pairing from scratch.
If trying all the above steps doesn’t work so far, factory reset your earbuds and then cleanly pair them with your Bluetooth smartphone.
