3. Power Cycle Your Equipment
The equipment necessary for streaming Stan is the playout device and Wi-Fi router. The error U1 may appear because your Wi-Fi or broadband connection is unreachable.
This is why it’s recommended to power cycle your router and, in the meantime, power cycle the playout device.
How to Power Cycle Network Router?
- First, press the Power button on the back.
- Wait until your wireless router shuts down.
- Then, unplug the power cord from the A/C.
- Wait ∼5 minutes for a complete discharge.
- In the meantime, power cycle your playout.

- Press the Power button on your Stan device.
- This should power OFF your streaming unit.
- Then, unplug the power cord for ∼5 minutes.
When both your network router and playout device are power cycled, it’s time to test whether the Stan error U1 will continue to appear.
If yes, you need additional troubleshooting steps…
4. Optimise Your Wireless Signal
The reason why Stan error U1 appears on your device could be due to a weak wireless signal from the Wi-Fi router.
Typically, this is the case with stationary streaming appliances such as personal computers, televisions, and perhaps consoles, which can’t be easily/quickly relocated.
The aspect that will boost your wireless signal the most is moving either your router or playout device closer to each other.
However, to test this out, grab your smartphone, go right next to the Stan streaming device, connect to the same Wi-Fi, and check whether the network is accessible.
If not, you’ll need some of the optimisations listed below:
- Move the Wi-Fi router closer to the Stan playout device.
- If you can’t move your router, try to elevate the position.
- Disconnect as many devices from the Wi-Fi as possible.
Pro Tip: To exclude the weak Wi-Fi signal entirely from the possibilities for Stan error U1, share a personal hotspot from your mobile for the playout device to connect to and test.
5. Reinstall the Stan Application
If you are confident that your internet is not the cause for error code U1 Stan, perhaps the problem is due to a software-related fault, most likely with the app itself.
When there is data corruption, missing files from the directory, or a recently failed firmware update, you may end up with weird errors such as U1.
This is why a complete app reinstallation is one of the most-effective ways to deal with Stan app errors, hence, let’s jump into the steps.
How to Reinstall Stan App on Android?
- Locate the Stan app on the home screen.
- Tap and hold the app’s icon continuously.
- Drag the Stan app icon to the Trash Bin.
- Then, you can freshly download the app.

Disclaimer: Considering the many different operating systems a smart TV could have, the exact options for uninstalling apps on your TV may not align with the steps above.
6. Clear Your Browser’s Cache (Online Viewing)
If you’re viewing Stan through a web browser, error U1 could be occurring due to a web browser problem, and the quickest way to justify this is to test with a different one.
So, if you’re using the Google Chrome browser, jump into Safari or Microsoft Edge to quickly test streaming Stan.
If you don’t see the U1 error from a different browser, you need to clear your browser’s cache data or entirely reinstall the browser.
If you, however, see a U1 error even through a different web browser, the cause is either an outage from Stan services or an internet issue on your side.
Note: Clearing your browser’s cache will sign you out from all your saved accounts!
7. Switch to a Wired Connection (Workaround)
Typically, networking-related errors, such as Stan U1 code, are resolved automatically when your internet connection (Wi-Fi) is back on track.
To speed things up, we recommend switching from a Wi-Fi to a wired connection only if your Stan playout device supports an Ethernet cable.
You only need a long enough internet cable (Ethernet), which connects to your router’s “LAN” port, and the other side plugs into your device.
Some devices will instantly become online, and others will require you to carry out a wired internet setup procedure, available in the settings.
Ongoing Stan Service Outage?
So, if you receive error U1 even when directly connected to the router, it’s possible that the error is not on your side.
There is likely an ongoing Stan outage that you can learn more about from Stan’s socials—best of luck.

So, Stan error code U1 is networking related, and to solve the issue, you’ll need to power cycle your equipment and reconnect from the Wi-Fi.
