Pressing the “Lens” button on the outer panel automatically resizes and focuses the projector’s image, allowing for custom modifications of the projected quality.

Follow these steps to focus the image of your Epson projector:

1. First, ensure the projector is running, and the projection is on.
2. Press the “Lens” button to bring up the adjustment screen.
3. Use the “Left” and “Right” arrows to adjust the image focus.
4. Once the projection is balanced out, wait for 10–15 seconds.

Your projector’s image will refocus in real-time, allowing you to track the improvements in the projected picture.

Once you’re done, don’t press any of the projector’s buttons and wait for the adjustment menu to disappear by itself after several seconds. 

2. Reposition the Epson Projector

If refocusing did not have any effect, your projector might have been placed too close to the wall or surface it projects on.

As a result, the image will be unable to synthesize in time, thus, leading to consistently blurry or fuzzy projection.

The throw ratio determines how far the projector must be from a wall or project surface in order to produce a specific image size, without compromising the quality.

With Epson, the throw ratio value is typically model-specific, but on average, it ranges between 1.0:1 and 2.1:1.

How to Calculate Epson Projector Throw Ratio?

There’s a simple formula that you can use to calculate the exact throw ratio of your projector.

In this case, substituting the “Throw Ratio” and the “Distance” equals dividing the screen width and the distance.

So, this should give you the exact value and allow you to place your projector. 

3. Clean Epson’s Projector Lens

As suggested, the Epson projector blurry picture can be a result of active condensation on the surface of the device’s lens.

So, keeping the projector in a humid environment for prolonged periods may contribute to the development of a lot of condensation on the Epson projector lens.

For best effects, apply a rubbing alcohol solution to a clean microfiber cloth and clean the frontal lenses of the projector.

Wait until the projector has fully dried up and check your picture.

Tip: To prevent condensation on the projector’s lenses, use the device in a non-humid, possibly dry environment. 

4. Adjust Native Projector Resolution

5. Enable “Geometric Correction” Feature

Another common reason for a blurry Epson projector is due to the misaligned keystone angle.

Before moving your projector yet, you must try enabling the Geometric Correction or Automatic Keystone Adjustment feature, which automatically lowers or raises the keystone of your Epson.

The adjustment is conducted according to the projected surface, so enabling the feature must ultimately improve the projector’s quality and resolve your issue.

Here’s how to activate the automatic keystone adjustment option:

1. Press the “Menu” or “Settings” button on your Epson.
2. Use the “Down” arrow to highlight the “Settings” tab.
3. Locate the “Geometric Correction” option in the menu.
4. Highlight the feature and press the “Menu” button again.
5. Next, set the feature to “H/V-Keystone” or “Automatic.”
6. Wait until the Epson projector is re-calibrated by itself.

To ensure the keystone correction works properly, the Epson projector’s image should be in the middle of the screen or whiteboard respectively.
