DJI Mic 2 Not Charging And Frustrated? (Quick Solutions!)

If you have noticed that the DJI Mic 2 not charging even after plugging it in, it can be a real headache when you’re ready to record.
The issue is often linked to a charging case issue, a synchronization problem, or an equipment fault.
This guide will walk you through practical steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue, returning your mic to capture clear audio.
How to Fix When the DJI Mic 2 Not Charging?
Note: Have you checked if the DJI transmitter and receiver are still turning on?
1. Soft Reboot the DJI Charging Case
A glitch in the charging case could prevent both the DJI transmitter and receiver from charging.
A soft reboot of the charging case can resolve the charging problem by resetting its internal system without further troubleshooting of the hardware.
- Remove the transmitter and receiver from the case, then hold the power button on the charging case for ~30-40 seconds to soft reboot.
So, after releasing the button, the case should restart, and the charging indicators may show a different status than they did before the reset.
Place the microphones and transmitter back in, then check if the battery status changes in any way.
2. Refill the DJI Charging Case Battery
The DJI Mic 2 equipment will not charge unless there is a sufficient amount of electrical supply in the charging case.
The case uses a standard USB Type-C cable included with the rest of the equipment, but if you want to charge it through an outlet, you will have to use an adapter.
- Plug the supplied USB Type-C cable into a 5V/2A third-party adapter, connect it to an outlet, and check if the DJI charging case receives power.
Wait for a minimum of 1–2 hours until the DJI Mic 2 case charges sufficiently, and ensure it uses a 5V/1A or a 5V/2A (5W or 10W) power adapter.
3. Charge the Receiver/Transmitter Separately
A charging case failure does not stop you from charging the DJI Mic 2 equipment because both the transmitter and receiver have their own USB Type-C ports for charging.
So, you can charge them directly to bypass the case and determine if the problem is in the case or the equipment.
How to Charge the DJI Receiver Directly:
The receiver has a separate USB Type-C port that can be found on the side panel.
Plug the supplied USB Type-C cable into the receiver, connect it to a 5V/1A adapter, and charge for ~15–20 minutes to check if the indicators light up.
How to Charge the DJI Transmitter Directly:
The transmitter’s USB Type-C port can be located on the bottom panel, unlike the receiver.
Use a USB Type-C cable, connect it with a compatible здуеи adapter, and check if there will be any charging indication after connecting all of the cables.
Note: The DJI receiver and transmitter take between 3 and 4 hours to charge on average!
4. Resynchronize the Transmitter & Receiver
The DJI Mic 2 might fail to charge because of a synchronization fault between the transmitter and receiver.
If the charging case fails to synchronize both devices and allow the charging, you must manually reconnect the DJI Mic 2 transmitter and receiver.
4.1 Automatic Synchronization:
The DJI Mic 2 transmitter and receiver are designed to synchronize automatically once both are placed in the charging case.
So, as long as the case is charged sufficiently and recognizes both, they should connect automatically without having to press any of the buttons.
4.2 Manual Synchronization:
Press and hold the Record button on the transmitter for ~3–4 seconds to activate the Bluetooth mode, then place both the transmitter and receiver in the case to finalize the synchronization.
Wait for approximately 20 seconds, then take the microphone out and test.
Important: Verify that the transmitter’s LED blinks blue before pressing the record button!
5. Clean the Case Charging Contacts
An obstructed metal contact pin (pogo pins) of the charging case could be why the DJI Mic 2 won’t charge.
Cleaning the pins using basic materials can ensure that the transmitter and receiver establish a proper contact once they are placed in.
5.1 What Do I Need for Cleaning the DJI Case Pins:
- Soft cloth
- Rubbing alcohol (70% or higher)
- Cotton swab
5.2 How to Clean the DJI Charging Case Pins:
- Wipe the contacts with a soft cloth to remove dust.
- Now, apply some rubbing alcohol to a cotton swab.
- Use the swab to clean the contact pins of the case.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely for 5 minutes.
- Place your equipment inside and test the charging.
Warning: Do not reinsert any of the equipment before the case pins have fully dried up!
6. Charge the Case Through a Computer
We recommend charging your DJI Mic 2 case through the USB port of a computer or laptop to determine if there’s a fault with the equipment or, potentially, the electrical outlet.
All you need is the supplied USB Type-C cable and a computer that’s plugged in and running to charge the DJI.
Here’s how to charge the DJI Mic 2 case through a PC:
- Plug the cable into a USB port on your computer.
- Connect the other end to the DJI charging case.
- Allow the “Unknown Device” prompt on the PC.
- Check if the charging LED on the case illuminates.
If the system prompts you for “File Transfer”, make sure to click “Not Allow” in order to start charging the case.
If you allow file transfer, you will be able to access the storage prompt of the receiver, which will prevent the charging.
7. Charge the DJI Mic 2 in a Different Outlet
Well, an outlet insufficiency is among the leading causes of charging faults with the DJI Mic 2.
We recommend testing in an alternative outlet that you’re regularly with and has proven functionality.
Disconnect the DJI Mic 2 USB-C cable from the current outlet and find another one in a different room.
Reconnect the adapter along with the DJI charging case and check the charging status.
8. Check for a Temperature-Related Delay
The DJI Mic 2 might not charge when hardware temperatures have engaged the built-in safety feature that delays or stops charging to protect the device.
Hence, checking for overheating can help you figure out if heat is the culprit and whether the equipment needs to “acclimate”.
Note: The batteries of the charging case may need some time to acclimate, especially if you have recently used the equipment outside in cold temperatures.
How to Check the DJI Mic 2 for Overheating?
The first and most alarming sign of overheating would be extremely high case temperatures.
If the charging case or the receiver feels hot to the touch before or during charging, it could be a solid overheating indication.
So, allow the case, transmitter, and receiver temperatures to stabilize for ~15-20 minutes to about 68°F (20°C), then check if the charging indicator illuminates.
9. Factory Reset the DJI Mic 2 Receiver
If you are still unaware of why the DJI Mic 2 is not charging, we recommend a factory reset of the DJI receiver and the equipment.
You can only reset the DJI receiver if there is still battery left, and you can access the system menu.
Alert: All settings and data from the DJI receiver will be erased after the factory reset!
Here’s how to factory reset the DJI Mic 2 receiver and equipment:
- First, open the DJI Mic 2 receiver control panel.
- Now, scroll to “Settings” and find “Factory Reset”.
- Next, press the scroll button, then press “Confirm.”
- Wait until the factory reset of the DJI Mic 2 initiates.
Cease all interactions with the charging case and all of the equipment once the factory reset starts.
Additionally, do not reinsert the receiver into the case before the reset is fully finished.
