2. Link Your Xfinity Service Accounts

As we’ve mentioned, error TVAPP-00101 appears when your device can’t be recognized on the in-home Xfinity internet, which happens even when you’re connected.

This leaves you with pretty much two different Xfinity accounts, and you may need to link them, so the device can get authorized.
To link Xfinity accounts and merge them into one ID, follow these steps:
- Head to the official Xfinity Customer Portal.
- Sign in with your master Xfinity ID details.
- Go to “Account” → “Account and Identity”.
- Then, move down and find “Your Accounts”.
- Next, choose “Manage and link accounts”.
- Verify your identity through the Xfinity App.
- Alternatively, use your email for verification.
- Now, go under the “Your Linked Accounts”.
- Choose “Link Account” to add a new account.
- Enter the mobile number of the Xfinity account.
- Locate the address of your secondary service.
- Confirm that you would like to add an account.

5. Test Your Xfinity Internet Connection

If you still can’t get rid of the TVAPP-00101 error, it’s time to check whether your internet is good by visiting the Xfinity Speed Test Tool.
You can do this on your computer, which is connected to your Xfinity internet router, and test the broadband speed.
Anything below 8 Mbps is too slow for streaming content.
However, it’s important to note that the speed shown on your computer is not the speed that the streaming device receives over Wi-Fi.
To check the actual speed of your streaming device, you must open the speed test tool on the device that is used for watching the Xfinity Stream app.

The cache data contains the login details, in-app settings, configurations, and old versions of the app, in which the error TVAPP-00101 still exists.
If you’re seeing a cached version of the app (not updated), clearing the cache will refresh what you’re seeing and hopefully resolve the error.
Here’s how to clear cache on devices that support it:
| Roku | Using the Roku remote control press, Home (×5), Up (x1), Rewind (×2), Fast‑forward (×2) |
| Fire TV | Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → select Xfinity Stream → Clear cache |
| Android TV | Settings → Apps → Xfinity Stream → see app info → Clear cache |
