Why Is My Hello Baby Monitor Beeping? (Let’s Fix Fast)

1. Clear the Alarm Schedule

One of Hello Baby’s features is the “Alarm” functionality that can alert the owners at specific times concerning the baby’s sleep schedule.

The feature can be configured through the options of the Hello Baby monitor and produces a sound similar to beeping when the timer strikes zero.

Here’s how to check if the alarm schedule is active:

1. Press the MENU key on the Hello Baby monitor.
2. Use “◀” & “▶” to navigate to the alarm clock icon.
3. Press “OK” and highlight the “Clear Alarm” button.
4. Save the changes and check if the beeps persist.

Note: The default setting for the Hello Baby monitor’s timer feature is “Off”

2. Shorten the Camera Distance

The next potential cause for the beeping is insufficient distance between the cameras and the parent unit.

Each Hello Baby camera in your baby’s room must be within a 100-feet range from the monitor in order to maintain a high-quality broadcast connection.

We recommend shortening the distance as much as possible and reconnecting the power cable of each camera once it has been relocated.

This helps the parent unit re-attempt the connection quicker and also allows for resolving systematic pairing issues. 

Quick Tip: Verify that there are not more than 2 walls between the camera and the parent unit!

3. Power Reset the Baby Monitor

Perhaps, the consistent beeping is an indication of an underlying power failure with the monitor.

This could often occur if the outlet’s power supply is not stable or there’s a fault with the adapter equipment and cables involved in the setup.

Here’s how to reset the Hello Baby monitor’s power:

1. Unplug the power cable from the baby monitor’s back.
2. Disconnect the other end of the adapter from the outlet.
3. Now, wait 30–40 seconds until the monitor discharges.
4. Reconnect the power adapter and test for the beeping.

Important: Remove Outlet Plugs!

In addition, we strongly recommend connecting the power adapter directly to the outlet and removing potential third-party devices from the outlet.

Those include power dividers, extenders, and smart plugs, so make sure to exclude any from your setup.

4. Re-add the Hello Baby Camera/S

One of the reasons why your Hello Baby monitor beeping 3 times is because of a reception fault with the camera.

Hello Baby monitors maintain a private wireless connection with each camera in the configuration, allowing for the broadcast’s data transfer to be efficient.

We recommend re-adding each of the Hello Baby cameras you have set up, through the system menu of the monitor.

2. Select the camera icon using the “◀” & “▶” arrows.
3. Highlight an active camera unit and then press “OK”.
4. Select “DEL CAM” from the menu that will show up.
5. Wait until the camera is uninstalled from the monitor.
6. Highlight an empty slot back in the “Cameras” menu.
7. Click “OK” and bring the camera closer to the monitor.
8. Wait until the camera reconnects and check the beeps.

If the beeping resumes upon re-adding a specific camera, it means there’s a hardware defect with the corresponding unit.

So, attempt to power cycle the camera that’s giving your monitor connection problems and remove it again, to check if the beeping persists.

Note: If the beeping is there only while a specific camera is added, you may have to send it in for a replacement. 

5. Reduce the Volume (Hello Baby Audio Monitor)

If the Hello Baby monitor keeps beeping, lowering the volume might help if the unit is mistakenly detecting background noise as a trigger for alerts.

Well, in some cases, high volume levels can amplify minor sounds or interference, causing the monitor to react with unnecessary beeping.

The “Volume Level” feature is only available for the audio-enabled Hello Baby monitors and reducing it might help with the beeping.

1. Press the “MENU” key on the Hello Baby monitor.
2. Press “◀” & “▶” to open the “Volume Levels” tab.
3. Use the “▼” key to highlight a lower volume level.

6. Fix Hello Baby’s Power Problems

Fix #1 Change the Power Outlet

The first step is to connect the baby monitor to an alternative wall outlet.

Fix #2 Remove External Equipment

You should also avoid installing third-party equipment in the setup of the monitor and keep the power adapter plugged directly into the outlet.

This helps avoid any potential problems with the additional equipment that is persistent in the setup.

Fix #3 Check the Power Adapter

Perhaps, the power cable of your Hello Baby monitor has run into a fault.

Check if the adapter is secured on both ends and if possible, find another electrical appliance in your home that uses the same power jack to test on the baby monitor. 

Fix #4 Reseat the Battery (Advanced)

As you probably know, the Hello Baby monitor requires a consistent supply from an electrical outlet and has an internal rechargeable battery. 

The monitor uses a polymer Lithium Ion-Rechargeable Battery with an adapter, that can be easily reseated once the unit is disassembled.

To uninstall the battery, remove the four screws holding the rear compartment of the baby monitor and unplug the camera’s adapter.

Wait for several seconds, place the battery back in, and reconnect it with the socket.

7. Factory Reset the Monitor

Well, if nothing else worked, then a factory reset should certainly stop the constant Hello Baby monitor beeping.

Whether it’s a software problem, or a camera connection issue, a clean start would provide you with the opportunity to set up things from scratch, removing potential issues.

There’s a small “RESET” pinhole on the back of the monitor that when pressed, will permanently erase ALL the system settings of the unit to default values. 

You will need a pointy instrument like a needle or toothpick that will fit through the pinhole and reach the button inside.

You need to press and hold the “RESET” button for ~10–15 seconds.
