It can be very exhausting when your Raycon earbuds connect but don’t play sound, and there may be different underlying reasons behind this.

So, before inspecting, let’s review all the possibilities as to why no sound is playing on the buds after successfully connecting them to your device.

  • Incorrect Audio Settings: Your device may be set to an output audio source to built-in speakers or another Bluetooth unit.
  • Low Battery or Volume: The volume on the device is turned down/muted or the battery level on the earbuds is very low.
  • Weak Bluetooth Pairing: Distance, obstacles, or interference can weaken the Bluetooth signal and affect sound quality.
  • Dirty Raycon Earbuds: Debris or earwax buildup on the earbud’s inner speakers of the earbuds are muffling the audio.
  • Raycon Software Issue: Temporary glitches within your earbuds or device’s software frequently disrupt the audio connection.

Now that you know the causes, you can next start troubleshooting your earbuds’ connection!

How to Fix When Raycon Connected But No Sound?

In the below section, we’ll discuss different methods that will help you address the no-sound problem with your earbuds.

Note: Make sure you implement all the methods in consecutive order.

1. Quick Fixes to Try First

If your Raycon earbuds are “Connected” but there is no sound, there are quite a few simple things to do before performing troubleshooting.

Here’s exactly what to begin with:

Check Volume Level:

It sounds obvious, but ensure both your device and Raycons are at audible levels.

You must check your device’s volume (Volume +), the Raycon earbuds volume (tap right earbud), and the volume of the application (in-build controller).

Verify Media Source:

Make sure you’re playing audio from the correct app or platform. Pause other media and check if it’s the intended source causing the silence.

We recommend testing different and trusted apps such as YouTube, Netflix, or Spotify.

Minimize Interference:

Bluetooth signals can weaken due to distance or obstacles. Move closer to your Bluetooth unit and make sure to stay within the 15-feet range.

Restart Both Devices:

Sometimes, a simple restart can work wonders.

Power off both your Bluetooth device and your Raycons and then power them back on after a few seconds.

If the issue persists after these steps, move further and try the following troubleshooting steps!

2. Check Bluetooth Settings

check bluetooth settings

When pairing Raycon earbuds, make sure your device is not linked to other Bluetooth devices.

This is because several Bluetooth connections to one device can cause interference, leading to connectivity or sound problems.

To check if that’s the case; open the Bluetooth settings on your device and review the list of all paired devices.

If there are any other Bluetooth devices connected, “forget” them immediately.

  • To forget on iOS, tap the “i” (Info) icon next to the connection.
  • To forget on Android, tap the cogwheel next to the connection.

How to Set Earbuds as the Default Audio Device:

If you are connecting your earbuds to a PC, ensure that the Raycon earbuds are chosen to be the audio output device in your Bluetooth settings.

3. Refresh the Bluetooth Connection

Sometimes, Bluetooth connections become corrupted or might prioritize other Bluetooth devices over your Raycon earbuds, causing the sound to be routed elsewhere.

Therefore, reconnecting the Bluetooth connection with earbuds can help establish a fresh connection between devices.

There are two possible outcomes:

  • Your earbuds have no audio output with the secondary device.
