The mytonies app is the optimal way of switching the Wi-Fi network.

The application is available for both Android and iOS devices, and you can download it from Google Play or the App Store.

Step #1 Find Toniebox Settings

The first step is to open the mytonies app on your smartphone and tap on the “Collection” icon in the bottom right corner.

This will lead you to the collection, where you must select “Toniebox” from the options in the header.

Then, you must tap the connected Toniebox for the Wi-Fi change.

Step #2 Pair Toniebox to Phone

The next step is to connect your Toniebox to your phone:

1. Turn on the Toniebox by pinching either of the ears.
2. Then, pinch both ears for at least ~20–30 seconds.
3. Release after the chime and the flashing blue light.
4. In your mytonies app, press “Continue” to proceed.

That’s almost it. The Toniebox is now paired to your smartphone, and you’re ready to connect it!

Step #3 Connect to a New Wi-Fi

When you press “Continue” you should see a prompt on your phone.

So, press “Join” on the phone prompt, and this must reveal the list of available Wi-Fi networks.

Hence, choose your new Wi-Fi and insert the password when prompted to connect your Toniebox to a new network.

Once connected you should see “Success. Your Toniebox is now set up”. You can now play Tonies from the cloud or download content locally by using the internet access from your Wi-Fi.

Reminder: If you don’t see the desired Wi-Fi, remember that Toniebox can only connect to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, and 5 GHz is not supported.

How to Change WiFi on Toniebox via my.tonies.com?

Another way to switch your Toniebox from one Wi-Fi to another is from the official mytonies website, which does not require the application.

However, there are a few extra steps involved so we’ve prepared a quick step-by-step tutorial to walk you through the entirety of the process.

Important: You need a computer or smartphone with a Wi-Fi connection (Ethernet won’t work).

Step #1 Validate Your Toniebox

The step is to navigate to my.tonies.com/wifi, click on the “I WANT TO BEGIN” button, and enter your Toniebox 8-digit ID.

The code can be found on the bottom of your Toniebox, so make sure that the device is not on the charger as you won’t be able to locate the code you require.

So, enter the code (example: ABC-DE-FGH) and click on the “GREAT, GO AHEAD” button.

Step #2 Prepare Your Toniebox

If the verification process is successful, the next step is to pinch both years on the Toniebox for about 5 seconds until you hear a chime and see a blinking blue light.

When you see the blinking blue light, wait for 20–30 seconds and click on the “THEN GET STARTED” button to continue.

Step #3 Pair to Toniebox Wi-Fi

Now you need to connect to the temporary Wi-Fi that your Toniebox is sharing.

This means that you need a smartphone, tablet, or computer, which can search and connect to a Wi-Fi network.

The Wi-Fi that your Toniebox shares is labeled “Toniebox-XXXX”, where the “X” is different. So, using your device, locate and connect to this Wi-Fi, which is not password protected (free).

When this is ready, go back to the webpage and click on the “CONTINUE” button to proceed.

Reminder: If you’re using a computer for this, the device must not be connected via Ethernet.

Step #4 Pair Toniebox to Wi-Fi

Now that your device is connected to the temporary Toniebox Wi-Fi, the final step is to pair the Toniebox to the actual wireless network.

On the following screen of the webpage, you’ll find the dropdown menu from which you can select an available (in-range) Wi-Fi to pair your Toniebox.

In the field below, you must insert the password for this network and click on the “CONNECT TONIEBOX” button to finalize the process.

You’ll see the “just a moment” message and finally “You made it” if everything went smoothly.

If you see the “Congratulations” screen, the Toniebox is now online and connected to Wi-Fi!

How to Connect Tonie to WiFi via Hotspot?

The Toniebox is a portable entertainment device.

This means that you can bring the music box with you wherever you go, regardless of whether there is a Wi-Fi router available to connect to.

So, if you want your Toniebox to be online anywhere, you can simply use the hotspot from your smartphone and connect Toniebox with it. 

What is a Hotspot? The hotspot refers to sharing your mobile phone’s internet (mobile data) for other devices such as Toniebox to connect to.

How to Share Hotspot on Android or iOS?

Here’s how to enable your hotspot on an Android or iOS smartphone:

• Android: Settings → Network & internet → Hotspot & tethering → Wi-Fi.
• iOS: Settings → Personal Hotspot → Allow Others to Join.
