We understand how bothering it is to leave your little one unattended, especially whenever your Hello Baby monitor not pairing.
Don’t worry, after this guide, we won’t leave you disappointed.
The pairing problems of your Hello Baby monitor may have started as a result of interference, power issues, or a problem with the device profile.
In this guide, you will learn how to:
7 Easy Solutions When Hello Baby Monitor Not Pairing!
Tip: Check if all of the monitor’s functions are responding.
1. Re-attempt the Pairing Procedure

Perhaps, you have not conducted the pairing procedure of the Hello Baby equipment properly and the camera failed to detect the monitor.
The Hello Baby monitor has the so-called “Search…” function that causes it to enter a wireless state and search for nearby cameras.
For the camera to be detected, you must meet the following requirements:
- The camera must be within 10 feet of the monitor.
- Both the camera and the monitor must be running.
- The monitor must have entered the searching state.
Now, follow these steps to pair the monitor:
- Press the “☰” button on the Hello baby monitor.
- Press the “▶” key to highlight the “Camera” page.
- Now, press the menu button again and pick a slot.
- Press “menu” again to start the camera detection.
- Wait until the monitor’s display says “Searching…”
- Press the “PAIR” button on the back of the camera.
- Check if the monitor switches to the camera’s feed.
If the pairing is successful, the monitor should immediately display the live feed of your Hello Baby camera.
So, you can switch in-between the broadcasts by navigating into the “Cameras” menu of the monitor and selecting one of the tiles.
2. Pair the Camera to a Different Slot

Upon accessing the baby monitor’s “Cameras” menu, the first thing you will notice is that up to 4 cameras can be connected at the same time.
If this is not the first Hello Baby camera you’re adding to the monitor, you may be accidentally overwriting an occupied camera slot.
So, repeat the instructions from step #1, but this time, specify an alternative slot in the Cameras section during the pairing.
There should be up to 4 available slots if this is your first Hello Baby camera so make sure to test each one of the profiles before proceeding.
3. Power Cycle the Monitor & Camera
Another reason why the Hello Baby monitor won’t pair is because of a power supply issue with the monitor or camera.
The power cycle is an effective resolution to any temporary problems, such as an improper broadcast of the camera’s live feed or an operating issue with the monitor.
How to Power Cycle the Hello Baby Monitor?

- Hold the “Power” key on top of the parent unit.
- Release the button after your display lights off.
Based on your monitor’s type, proceed with these steps:
- Wireless Hello Baby monitor: Plug the baby monitor into the charger, hold the “Power” key for 15 seconds and unplug the charging cable.
- Hello Baby audio monitor: Unplug the baby monitor from the power supply, wait for a total of 60 seconds, and reconnect the device.
The difference between the two types of Hello Baby monitors is that the audio-enabled monitor needs to be plugged in, whilst the wireless one doesn’t and charges instead.
Tip: If you’re using a wireless Hello Baby monitor, ensure it’s charged to maximum power.
How to Power Cycle the Hello Baby Camera?

- Disconnect the Hello Baby camera’s power cord.
- Hold the “Pair” button on the back for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable of the camera back in.
While unplugged, inspect the baby camera’s power equipment for any type of damage or signs of wear.
Defective equipment could lead to fluctuations in the power state and even prevent the camera from successfully pairing.
4. Check for Sources of Interference
Nearby sources of interference could be preventing the Hello Baby monitor from recognizing the camera, even if it’s in “Pairing” mode.
The monitor and camera use a private 2.4 GHz wireless frequency to connect and a nearby outside network could be causing a conflict.
How to Position Hello Baby Equipment?

First, let’s talk about physical interference and device positioning:
- Ensure the devices are within 50 feet radius.
- Minimize obstacles (walls) between the units.
- Place the devices on a stable and flat surface.
How to Solve Hello Baby Wireless Interference?
All types of frequencies and wavelengths could contribute to the development of interference.
Local networks or devices using 2.4 GHz to connect, RF transmitters, radios, baby phones, IR devices, and even metallic/reflective surfaces can contribute to the formation of interference.
Note: Ensure there are no other wireless devices in a 20-feet range from both the baby monitor and camera before re-attempting the pairing procedure.
5. Delete and Re-add the Camera

Perhaps, the reason why your Hello Baby monitor is not pairing is because you have already paired the camera, but it refuses to work.
An issue with the profile may cause the live feed to freeze periodically or show a black screen on your baby monitor.
Follow these instructions to re-add the camera’s profile:
- Press “☰” on the Hello Baby monitor’s panel.
- Go to the Camera icon in the monitor menu.
- Use the ▲ and ▼ keys to select your camera.
- Press “OK” to access the camera’s sub-menu.
- Use the ▲ and ▼ keys to choose “DEL CAM”.
- After that, press “OK” to confirm your selection.
Note: Now, repeat the steps above for all existing camera profiles and follow the instructions from step #1 to re-initiate the pairing procedure.
6. Factory Reset the Hello Baby Monitor

A factory reset would almost certainly fix your Hello Baby monitor.
All you have to do is locate is insert a thin object into the “RESET” pinhole on the back and hold it for about 15–20 seconds.
This causes the monitor to reset and stay off for about half a minute.
Once the device reboots, the camera configuration will be reset, and you should be able to complete the pairing process.
Warning: This method will unpair your equipment and permanently erase ALL configurations!
7. Reseat the Monitor’s Battery (Advanced)
Well, if your Hello Baby monitor not pairing still, perhaps reseating the battery might help!
As you probably know, unless you have an audio-enabled unit, the monitor uses a rechargeable battery (4000mAh 3.7V) to display the camera’s live feed.

The battery lasts for ~8 hours after full charge. And please note – disassembling the Hello Baby voids the product’s warranty!
Now, here’s how to take out the monitor’s battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on your monitor’s side.
- Undo the 4–6 screws holding the compartment in place.
- Gently lift the cover to expose the monitor’s battery pack.
- Unplug the battery’s jack from the monitor’s motherboard.
- Now, pull out the battery along with the power adapter jack.
- Press and hold any button on the monitor for ~10 seconds.
- Place the battery back in and reconnect it to the mainboard.
Note: Warning signs of a defective battery may include frequent reboots, a frozen, blinking, or flashing screen, not turning on, and of course, issues with the pairing.
