Why Won’t My Onn Wireless Earbuds Connect?
It’s unusual for high-quality earbuds such as onn wireless, to refuse to connect to an iPhone, so we’ve extracted the most common suspects.
Here’s a list of all possibilities for connection faults:
That’s pretty much everything that can congest the Bluetooth signal between your onn earbuds and an iPhone.
Without further ado, let’s jump into a few troubleshooting steps to fix the issue.
Onn Wireless Earbuds Not Pairing to iPhone – Quick Fix
Resolving issues with onn wireless earbuds pairing is quick and easy!
1. Turn Bluetooth OFF and ON
The first and easiest step would be to simply turn your Bluetooth OFF and ON, which will reset the services.
So, if your onn earbuds are in pairing mode, they should be discovered by your iPhone, and they must appear in the Bluetooth list as an available device.
- To toggle any iPhone’s Bluetooth feature, go to Settings, enter the Bluetooth tab, and press the toggle on the top right.
This will disable the Bluetooth, so wait for a few minutes and enable the feature again.
When you’re ready, observe the list of devices and wait for your buds to appear.
Quick Tip: Airplane Mode!
If you want to seriously restart your iPhone’s Bluetooth services, toggle ON the Airplane Mode, which completely disables all networking and connections.
Then, after 60 seconds, disable the Airplane Mode and again, go into your Bluetooth settings to check whether the buds are there.
Note: It may take up to 60 seconds for your onn earbuds to appear in the Bluetooth menu!
2. Reinsert your Onn Earbuds
A quick way to resolve the problem is to reinsert your onn earbuds from the charging capsule.
Since inserting the earbuds into the case will turn them OFF, this is a good method to restart them, as well as their system, which may “unclog” the problem and allow you to connect them.
So, here’s exactly what to do to reboot your onn earbuds:
- First, verify that the capsule is sufficiently charged.
- Next, insert both earbuds into your charging case.
- Close the lid and wait for at least 45–50 seconds.
- Take both earbuds out of the case, and try pairing.
If your onn earbuds finally show up in the Bluetooth menu of your iPhone, then the problem was temporary and related to a system bug.
If not, then your onn earbuds are not in pairing mode so keep reading…
3. Put Earbuds in Pairing Mode
Typically, onn earbuds are designed to enter pairing mode immediately after being ejected from the capsule and turned on.
However, sometimes this is not the case and if your earbuds are not in pairing mode, sadly, they won’t appear in the Bluetooth list of your iPhone, until further notice.
When in pairing mode, your onn earbuds’s LED should flash!
If the LED does not flash, follow the steps below to manually enable pairing mode:
- Put both your onn earbuds into the charging case.
- Close the lid of your capsule and wait 60 seconds.
- Then, eject both onn earbuds and watch the LED.
- If the LED is not blinking, locate the Power button.
- Press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
- If the LED does not blink, hold the button for longer.
If the LED light on the earbuds does not start to flash, then your onn buds might have been left without battery charge.
This primarily happens when the capsule is out of power, so connect the case to the power supply, and insert your buds for at least 5 minutes to charge them sufficiently.
When you’re confident that the earbuds are charged, retry the pairing!
4. Shorten the Signal Distance
So, another reason why onn earbuds won’t pair to your iPhone could be due to distance-related issues, especially when using Bluetooth pairing.
Well, if the earbuds and iPhone are not close to each other the onn profile may not appear in the Bluetooth tab until your signal is strengthened.
Here are a few things to do, which might help you justify the pairing problem:
- Put your onn earbuds and iPhone right next to each other.
- If you have other Bluetooth devices nearby, turn them OFF.
- Restart the Bluetooth on your iPhone and reinsert the buds.
- Pair the devices in another room away from any electronics.
If your onn earbuds won’t pair with your iPhone, it’s time to proceed with the big-gun methods…
5. Factory Reset Onn Earbuds
If onn wireless earbuds won’t connect to iPhone, it’s time to perform a factory reset, which will entirely revert their system to defaults.
This means that your earbuds will be brand new, and disconnected from any wireless device that saved and remembered their Bluetooth connection.
The typical way of resetting onn wireless earbuds goes like this:
- Verify that the charging case is sufficiently charged.
- Then, insert both your onn earbuds into the capsule.
- Leave the lid open and locate the case’s Power button.
- Press and hold the Power button for 10–15 seconds.
- When the indicator light changes, your buds are reset.
When you’re done resetting the earbuds, close the lid of the capsule with the earbuds inserted for about 60 seconds.
Then, take both earbuds out of the capsule and retry the pairing process.

6. Network Reset your iPhone
The “Network Reset” should only be used as a last resort against pairing problems with your onn earbuds.
This method focuses on resolving issues with your iPhone’s connectivity, rather than troubleshooting your onn earbuds.
This type of reset won’t erase any data from your iPhone but will restore ALL Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Cellular settings to default.
This means that all remembered passwords, Bluetooth profiles, and custom APN settings will be deleted.
Here’s how to reset the network settings on your iPhone in easy steps:
- On your iPhone, open the Settings application.
- Then, scroll down and enter in the General tab.
- Go down and press “Transfer or Reset iPhone.”
- From the two options below, choose the “Reset”
- In the new prompt, tap “Reset Network Settings.”
- Confirm that you would like to reset your network.
- The iPhone will restart and reset, so wait patiently.
You don’t need to worry about any settings after the reset.
Your cellular and mobile data should work just fine, but you’ll need to manually reconnect your iPhone to the Wi-Fi when ready.
Finally, try to pair your onn earbuds with your iPhone!
Warning: Deleted connectivity settings after network reset cannot be recovered!
7. Pair Buds to Different Devices
Well, if you’ve reached so deep into the guide and your onn earbuds are not pairing with your iPhone, perhaps the issue comes from your phone.
It’s not excluded that there is a compatibility problem or something else with your iPhone’s system (iOS), preventing the onn connection.
So, one guaranteed way to tighten the circle of possibilities would be to try pairing your onn buds to a different Bluetooth device.
Anything from Androids, Windows machines, or macOS computers with in-built or externally connected Bluetooth dongles would work for a simple test.
If your onn earbuds are not connecting to any device, it’s time to check the warranty or contact the local merchant for reclamation and replacement.
Best of luck!
Quick Recap
