1. Unplug the Wyze Camera

Start with something simple, such as unplugging the Wyze camera from the outlet for about 30–45 seconds.

All of the Wyze cameras are intended for indoor placement, as they use a standard A/C power adapter, along with a micro-USB cable for a direct outlet connection.

Here’s how to ‘power cycle’ your Wyze camera:

1. Unplug the camera adapter from the A/C source.
2. Next, disconnect the USB cable from the adapter.
3. Wait for half a minute until the camera is drained.
4. Reconnect the USB cable with the A/C adapter.
5. Reconnect your Wyze camera to the AC source.

Determine if the camera’s indicator will illuminate upon reconnecting your power adapter.

If it does, allow the camera to complete the boot sequence, which lasts for about 15–20 seconds.

If not, then it’s probably a fault related to the A/C outlet!

2. Alter the Wyze’s A/C Source

Well, voltage shortages of the power socket might prevent the Wyze Cam v3 from powering on and getting past the initialization.

Hence, the next and most important step is to test if the Wyze Cam v3 will power on while connected to an alternative power source.

5. Check for Camera Overheating

The overheating causes the camera to enter a type of emergency mode, which prevents it from turning on for as long as the temperatures are high.

Well, the simplest and easiest way to tell if the Wyze Cam v3 has exceeded the recommended hardware temperature is by placing your hand on the back panel.

6. Upgrade Wyze Camera’s OS

The Wyze Cam v3 specifically requires manual updates through the mobile Wyze app.

So here’s how to check for a newer version:

1. Open the Wyze app and tap the “Settings” button.

9. Replace Wyze A/C Components
