eufy Doorbell Camera Not Working – 8 Quick & Easy Solutions!
Note: Have you tried restarting your eufy doorbell and HomeBase?
1. Sign Out and In your eufy Account

If your eufy Doorbell is correctly set up but your camera cannot record, whether you have got a wireless or wired installation, it’s probably a bug.
According to many users with camera-related problems with eufy doorbells, signing out and in your eufySecurity application fixes the problem.
- Tap the hamburger menu from the top right.
- Then, press on your avatar at the very top.
- Tap “Log Out” at the bottom of the screen.
You will be brought to the login screen of the eufySecurity app. Insert the correct credentials for your eufy account and sign back in.
Then, check if you can access your eufy Doorbell camera’s history of recorded events.
Quick Tip: To view the camera’s historical events, tap the “Events” tab from the navigation bar and select a specific day to see everything that happened.
2. Check your Doorbell Voltage (Wired)

If you’re using a wired eufy doorbell, it’s crucial to ensure the device receives the necessary 16–24V (30VA) voltage.
To validate this, you may need to disconnect the wiring from your eufy doorbell and use a multimeter to check the voltage input of your existing doorbell installation.
If you detect that the voltage input is less than required, it’s highly likely that you’re facing eufy camera problems because of insufficiency.
Wired eufy Doorbell – No Existing Wiring
In case you have no existing wiring for a doorbell installation, the best alternative you’ve got is to use a specific power adapter for doorbells with an integrated transformer.
These adapters convert the high-voltage from the outlet (120V or 230V AC) to the required 16-24V AC.
3. Fully Charge your Doorbell (Wireless)

If you have a wireless eufy doorbell, it’s crucial to ensure that your device is charged sufficiently, especially when you’re experiencing camera-related faults.
Wireless eufy doorbells record shorter videos when compared to the wired models, to preserve the battery, and if you have no recordings at all, the battery may be critically low.
Hence, we recommend using the microUSB cable to charge the eufy doorbell sufficiently in a long session.
- If you use a 5V 2A adapter, charge for around 5–6 hours.
- If you use a 5V 1A adapter, charge for around 2–3 hours.
When the battery of your eufy wireless doorbell is sufficiently charged, trigger motion detection and view the camera’s historical events from the “Events” tab.

4. Tweak the Motion Detection Sensitivity
Another potential reason why your eufy doorbell camera is not recording could be the sensitivity of the motion detection within the eufySecurity app.
The sensitivity is the amount of movement that must be detected to trigger a recording event, thus motivating the eufy doorbell to capture.

The sensitivity can be adjusted through the eufySecurity app:
- Open the eufySecurity app on your mobile device.
- Then, tap on the eufy doorbell you wish to configure.
- Select “Motion Detection” and configure as follows:
- Motion Detection: Enabled
- Detection sensitivity: 7–9
- Detection Type: All Motion
When you’re ready with this configuration, walk in front of your doorbell a couple of times back and forth and then check the “Events” tab in the eufySecurity app.
Tip: If your eufy doorbell camera starts picking up too many motion events, you can change the Detection Type to “Human Only” or decrease the sensitivity.
5. Verify the Storage for your Recordings

Considering the large number of eufy doorbell models, you must ensure that yours has storage where to save recordings.
For instance, many wired eufy doorbells come with built-in storage, and they do not necessarily require a HomeBase or microSD card.
So, if you’re using a wireless eufy doorbell, without a HomeBase, microSD card, or a cloud storage subscription, chances are the device has no storage to capture and save the records.
eufy Doorbells That Requires Storage:
- Video Doorbell 2C (Battery-Powered)
- Video Doorbell 2K (Battery-Powered)
- Video Doorbell 1080P (Battery-Powered)
- Add-on Video Doorbell 2K (Battery-Powered)
- Video Doorbell Dual (Battery-Powered)
- Video Doorbell Dual 2K (Wired)
- Video Doorbell Slim (Offline Model)
eufy Doorbells With a Built-In Storage:
- Video Doorbell 2K (Wired)
- Video Doorbell 1080P (Wired)
- Video Doorbell 2K Pro (Offline Model)
In short, if you use an eufy video doorbell that requires storage you either need a HomeBase, microSD card, or a cloud subscription storage.
So, if you don’t provide your doorbell with a place to store your recordings, your camera will not work.
6. Eject and Reinsert the microSD Card

Note: You can skip this method if you are not using a microSD card for storing recordings!
Another reason behind your non-functioning eufy doorbell camera may be a malfunction of the microSD card in your HomeBase.
A simple solution could be to just remove and then reinstall the microSD card from the back of the HomeBase and test the eufy doorbell camera thereafter.
Note: You don’t need to worry about exceeding the microSD card or HomeBase’s storage as your eufy doorbell will start overwriting old recordings.
7. Inspect the eufy Doorbell Connections
If the eufy doorbell camera stopped working out of a sudden, there are several possibilities, and most of them are related to the doorbell’s internet connection.
Well, regardless of whether the eufy doorbell stores the recordings in built-in storage, cloud, or HomeBase, losing a Wi-Fi connection interrupts the process.
7.1 Check Doorbell’s Connection

In the eufySecurity app, if you see “Doorbell is offline”, then this is the reason why your camera is not capturing any events.
If your doorbell is constantly disconnecting, you may be missing a lot, if not all, recordings of potential motion events.
To reconnect your eufy doorbell to the Wi-Fi, tap on the three dots in the bottom right corner and then on the cogwheel button.
Then press on General → Wi-Fi Connection → Change Wi-Fi.
Note: The eufy doorbell only connects to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
7.2 Check HomeBase Connection
Another potential reason for missing recordings from the camera of your eufy doorbell is the bad Wi-Fi connection of the HomeBase.
So, if you store your recorded events in the memory of your HomeBase, whether it’s in a microSD card or built-in storage, dropping connection is the culprit.
- To check the connection of your HomeBase, go to the Device tab → HomeBase → HomeBase Settings → General → Wi-Fi Connection.
Reminder: During the setup of your HomeBase, you must connect the device to the router via an Ethernet cable and then connect to the Wi-Fi.
7.3 Wi-Fi Connection & Consistency

If you have issues with your Wi-Fi, and your eufy doorbell or HomeBase is disconnecting every now and then, you may be missing a lot of your recordings.
Here are a few quick tips to optimize your Wi-Fi:
- Disconnect your router for 30 seconds.
- Straighten up the Wi-Fi router antennas.
- Elevate the position of your W-Fi router.
- Shorten the proximity of the Wi-Fi signal.
- Disconnect any unused wireless devices.
Note: It’s crucial to verify that the doorbell and HomeBase are not disconnecting from the Wi-Fi.
8. Factory Reset Doorbell and HomeBase

If your eufy doorbell camera not working after everything you’ve tried, perhaps you’re facing a severe software-related problem.
The only way out would be a complete factory reset on both your eufy doorbell and HomeBase, which will erase everything from the system permanently.
How to Factory Reset eufy Doorbell?
To factory reset your wired or wireless eufy doorbell, you need to open the device and locate the reset button pinhole.
Then you’ll need a pointy tool that must reach into the pinhole and hold the reset button for about 10–15 seconds.
- The ring must turn yellow, indicating the factory reset.
How to Factory Reset a HomeBase?

Similarly to the eufy doorbell, you can factory reset your HomeBase by reaching into the CYCLE pinhole on the back of the device and holding the button.
You can release the button once you hear a voice prompt “HomeBase is resetting”.
Reminder: Don’t forget that you need to connect the eufy HomeBase to the router via Ethernet cable and then to Wi-Fi.
