Babysense Monitor Not Connecting – 5 Quick Ways to Fix!

Note: Are you sure that the monitor and camera are both powered on?

1. Move the Camera Within Range

We understand that monitoring across one or multiple floors/walls is inevitable, but it could also be the cause of the monitor’s connection issues.

It’s important to meet Babysense’s connection range requirements to have a smooth connection.

To conduct proper pairing, the Babysense camera and monitor must be within at least 5 ft (1.5 meters) during the procedure.

After the setup, you can move the devices around, but they must remain within a 960-foot radius from one another.

1.1 How to Check for Interference?

Well, wireless or physical interference is another significant factor that must be considered after conducting the pairing process.

The 2.4 GHz Bluetooth frequency signal used by the Babysense equipment could interfere with another identical signal in close range.

So, ensure none of the following are near your monitor or camera:

  • All types of wireless devices use the 2.4 GHz Bluetooth signal.
  • Wireless routers, modems, or gateways emitting 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz.
  • Cellular service devices, microwave ovens, or RF transmitter units.
  • Solid walls, obstructions, or big furniture blocking the camera signal.

Note: All of the following devices must remain outside a 30–40 feet radius from the Babysense equipment, in order to establish proper connection.

1.2 How to Adjust Monitor’s Antenna?

Similar to other baby monitors, Babysense also has a reception antenna that can be regulated according to the reception’s quality.

So, you can find the retractable antenna on the back of the monitor, and pushing it towards a vertical position should improve the reception significantly.

2. Connect the Monitor to the Camera/s

An improper pairing process can be the reason why the Babysense monitor not connecting or detecting your camera.

The thing is, you can connect up to 4 individual cameras to a single Babysense monitor and the monitor’s system has 4 separate slots.

Here’s how to properly connect the Babysense camera to the monitor:

  1. Press the 3 horizontal lines “Menu” button on the monitor.
  2. Use the “Down” arrow to navigate to the green camera icon.
  3. Press “SELECT” and highlight the “PAIR” option in the menu.
  4. Select the first slot from the options’ menu to proceed further.
  5. In the next 60 seconds, press the “PAIR” button on the camera.
  • It’s important to keep the camera as close to the monitor as possible during the pairing process.

Additionally, attempt to connect the Babysense camera to each of the 4 slots in the menu by pressing the “PAIR” with the correct timing.

Note: If the 60 seconds run out without connecting a camera, the countdown will not start over automatically.

3. Fully Re-charge the Babysense Monitor

One of the reasons why the Babysense video monitor not connecting is because of insufficient battery.

The monitor uses a 4000mAh rechargeable battery, meaning it can be moved around when charged to full capacity.

However, if the battery depletes under 20%, the monitor may start repeatedly losing connection to one or more of the Babysense cameras.

How to Detect Charging Issues?

Often, the improper charging is caused by:

  • Loose or unsecured connections in the monitor’s charger.
  • Defective third-party equipment such as strips or dividers.
  • Issues with the electrical outlet of the Babysense monitor.

Important: Leave the Parent Unit Plugged In

As established, the Babysense monitor uses a rechargeable battery, and it doesn’t require a consistent power supply.

However, allowing the unit to charge to maximum capacity and using it while plugged in will eliminate underlying issues with the power functionality or the connectivity.

Note: The battery indicator in the upper-right corner of the monitor will fill up once the battery has finished charging.

4. Power Cycle the Babysense Camera/s

Well, unlike the Babysense parent unit, the camera must be plugged in at all times to operate.

A potential powering fault or issues with the power cord may prevent the monitor from establishing a secure connection and accessing the camera’s broadcast.

Follow these simple steps to power cycle a Babysense camera:

  1. Disconnect the camera’s supplying A/C cord from the outlet.
  2. Hold the “PAIR” button on the back of the unit for 15 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cable and wait until the camera turns on.

Tip: Follow the instructions in solution #2 to re-attempt the pairing process once the camera has finished power cycling.

5. Factory Reset the Babysense Monitor

If you’re still unable to connect with the Babysense camera to the monitor, it’s time for a factory reset.

Unfortunately, only the parent unit comes with an in-built “RESET” button on the back, meaning the camera cannot be restored to factory defaults.

Here’s how to perform a factory reset on the Babysense monitor:

  1. Locate the “RESET” pinhole on the monitor’s rear panel.
  2. Next, insert a thin object to press the reset button inside.
  3. Hold the “RESET” button for 3–5 seconds and release it.
  4. Wait until your Babysense monitor’s LED turns solid red.

The LED light will remain on the baby monitor for the continuity of the reset.

It’s recommended to plug the parent unit with a charger if the battery percentage is under 50%.
