Prior to connecting the Sonos Move 2 over Wi-Fi, it must be set up with a Wi-Fi network first.

For this purpose, you must download and install the Sonos app available for Android and iOS devices, discover the speaker, and assign it to your home’s Wi-Fi network.

Here’s how to set up the Sonos Move 2 with Wi-Fi using the app:

  1. Download the Sonos app from the Google Play or App Store.
  2. Launch the app and tap “Set up a new system” from the menu.
  3. Select the “Add” button on the popup to add your new product.
  4. Select “Sonos Move 2” as the “Device Type” you wish to add.

You may be attempting to pair the Sonos Move 2 speaker over a distance that exceeds the recommended Bluetooth range.

So, ensure both devices are within a 25–30-foot range from one another and rediscover Sonos Move 2 through the device’s Bluetooth page.

Note: Moving your device out of the speaker’s range while playing will result in persistent audio interruptions and inevitably, a disconnect.

3. Reactivate the Move 2 Pairing Mode

You can use the built-in buttons on the back of the speaker to control the power state, check if the device is turned on, and use Move 2’s Bluetooth functions.

The Sonos Move 2 cannot sustain wireless connection with multiple devices at a time, so you must ensure there are no existing connections prior to setting up a new device.

Enable “Idle Auto-Disconnect”

To ensure the speaker does not stay connected to any of your devices when not in use, you must activate the “Idle Auto-Disconnect” feature within the Sonos app.
