Note: Have you tested if the chime responds upon pressing the doorbell’s “RING” button?
1. Undergo the Chime Setup Correctly

Eufy’s doorbell Wi-Fi chimes are considered an add-on to your setup and require an external USB dongle setup.
For this purpose, you must already own eufy HomeBase as well as a functional doorbell, assuming you have the eufy app installed with all devices set up.
Before creating a profile for your chime within the app, it’s recommended to install the USB dongle and prepare the HomeBase to avoid interrupting the procedure halfway.
1.1 How to Install the eufy Chime USB Dongle?
- Navigate to the eufy HomeBase’s installation spot.
- Examine the outer panels to locate the USB ports.
- Plug the wireless dongle of the chime into the port.
- After that, wait until the USB dongle starts blinking.
1.2 How to Set Up the eufy Chime in the App?

- Open the eufy app and go to “Doorbell Settings”.
- Tap “Indoor Chime”, then “eufy Doorbell Chime”.
- Press “I’ve plugged in a USB Dongle” to proceed.
- Ensure the chime is receiving A/C and powered.
- Tap “Continue” within the prompt of the eufy app.
- Press the chime’s “SYNC” button for ~2 seconds.
- When the eufy chime dings, press “Heard Ding”.
If the pairing is successful, the chime’s LED should turn solid blue, and you will also hear another “ding” sound before the device profile appears within the app.
2. Check if the eufy Chime is Updating
As established, the eufy WiFi doorbell chime flashing red could occur if the chime’s software is being updated.
As long as your eufy products have established a secure internet connection and it not offline, all OS updates will be uploaded automatically, meaning you don’t have to do anything.
However, if the update lasts longer than usual or fails, the chime (or camera) will retry within 24 hours to re-upload it if the internet status has improved.
How to Check the eufy Chime’s Firmware Version?

- Open the eufy app and navigate to the “Device” tab.
- Tap on the thumbnail of your eufy chime on the page.
- Go to “Gear icon (settings)” then navigate to “General”.
- Tap “About Device” and then enter “System Version”.
While you will be unable to update the chime manually, the application will state whether or not the chime is up-to-date.
- If not, wait for at least 24 hours while the blinking persists, and wait for the OS update to restart.
3. Ensure the HomeBase is Online
The eufy HomeBase works as the “meeting point” for all devices in your setup.
Unlike the doorbell, your chime does not connect to the internet separately and relies on the internet provided by the HomeBase.
Note: Keep in mind that the eufy Video Doorbell Pro and the eufy Wi-Fi chime require the second or third version of the HomeBase.
3.1 How to Connect HomeBase via Wi-Fi (Wireless)?

- Open the eufySecurity app on your mobile smartphone.
- Go to “Devices” and press on the HomeBase’s thumbnail.
- Go to “General” → “Connection” and tap on “Wi-Fi Setup”.
- Select the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection in the list of networks.
- Enter the Wi-Fi password and press the “Connect” button.
Tip: All eufy HomeBase models only support 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi frequencies.
3.2 How to Connect HomeBase via Ethernet (Wired)?
- Locate the Ethernet jack on the side of the HomeBase.
- Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the unit’s jack.
- Next, lead the cable next to the ports on your Wi-Fi router.
- Connect the cable to one of the yellow ports on the router.
- Check if both ends of the Ethernet cable are flashing green.
3.3 What to Do if eufy HomeBase is Not Connecting?

If the HomeBase fails to pair over Wi-Fi, try this:
- Ensure the HomeBase is within ~100 feet of the router.
- Try extending the router’s antenna and then relocating it.
- Remove other wireless devices close to the chime/router.
- Reduce the number of devices connected to the network.
- Prevent all paired devices from downloading or uploading.
If the HomeBase’s Ethernet connection fails, apply these steps:
- Try connecting the HomeBase to a different router port.
- Check if there’s a fault with the RJ-45 Ethernet plug-in.
- Check for dust accumulation or debris in the base’s port.
- Replace the Ethernet cable used for plugging the device.
- Ensure both ends of the Ethernet adapter have clicked-in.
Tip: You can access the GUI of your router by typing the default gateway in your PC’s browser and signing in by using “admin” for both the username and password.
4. Disassemble the eufy Doorbell Chime (Advanced)

Instead of a simple reset, the eufy doorbell chime blinking red fault is perhaps related to an inconsistency with one of the hardware components.
- The chime is relatively easy to take apart but don’t forget that this will void your warranty.
Note: If your chime is still covered by a warranty, we recommend turning it in for a replacement, as the red light is often an indication of a hardware defect.
4.1 How to Disarm the eufy Wi-Fi Chime?
All you have to do is to ensure the chime is unplugged from the outlet and wait for at least 1–2 minutes until all of the electricity is discharged.
4.2 How to Inspect the eufy Chime Hardware?

For the disassembly, you will need:
- A compatible screwdriver (Phillips or Torx)
- A prying tool for easier panel uninstallation.
- A flat working surface to place the chime.
- A working gloves and an isolation pad.
Follow these steps:
- Locate the outer 4 screws holding the chime’s panel.
- Now, use the screwdriver to loosen each of the screws.
- Use a prying tool to split open the surface of the chime.
Now, search for one of the following faults:
- An issue transformer charging by the A/C cable.
- A problem with the C wire from the motherboard.
- Burnt or damaged components of the Wi-Fi chime.
- A malfunction of the Wi-Fi chime’s internal speaker.
- An issue with the chime buttons or a contact fault.

After putting all of the chime’s components together, insert a pin or a paperclip into the small “RESET” button on the back.
Hold the button for approximately 15–20 seconds to initiate a factory reset and erase the chime’s Wi-Fi settings.
Tip: You must resync the chime to the HomeBase once you’re done with the reset.
