Well, this is not normal behavior, so this quick guide provides practical steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue and ensure the camera remains stationary. 

How to Fix the Eufy Baby Monitor Moving on Its Own?

Note: Have you observed a pattern in the movements of the camera?

1. Set the “Night Vision” Function to “Off”

The eufy baby monitor camera might be moving independently because the night vision setting is enabled, which makes the camera re-adjust automatically according to the lighting.

Switching off the night vision can prevent the eufy baby monitor camera from rotating throughout the night. 

So, launch the eufy Baby app and navigate to “Me” → “My Devices” → “Baby Monitor” and set the “Auto Night Vision” button to “Off”.

Note that the images of the eufy Baby Monitor camera may appear darker at night without night vision enabled.

Note: Do not re-enable the night vision until the cause of the constant rotation is identified. 

2. Adjust the eufy Camera View Manually

Adjust the Live View via the eufy Baby App:

• Open the eufy Baby app and tap the live view option.
• Tap the directional arrows to move the camera around.
• After that, set the view to focus on your baby’s bassinet.
• Next, determine if the camera would still rotate by itself.

We also recommend relocating the camera physically before adjusting the live view manually through the monitor or app.

This way, you can determine if the camera movements have a particular pattern or are always random.

3. Power Reset the eufy Cam & Monitor

Unexpected movements of the eufy camera may occur due to a glitch with the power supply of the eufy baby monitor system.

A power reset can resolve all underlying issues by draining the power supply from both the eufy camera and the monitor. 

Note: You cannot monitor your baby temporarily while discharging the eufy equipment.

How to Reset the eufy Camera Power:

• Disconnect the eufy camera from its power source.
• Wait ~30 seconds to allow the camera to discharge.
• Plug the camera back in and ensure it powers on.
• Next, check if the camera is still moving on its own.

How to Reset the eufy Monitor Power:

• Turn off the monitor and unplug it from the charger.
• Now, wait ~30 seconds, then reconnect the monitor.
• Allow the monitor to recharge fully after reconnecting.
• Confirm the monitor and camera are working together.

Note: Check if the camera and monitor equipment are in proper condition!

4. Resynchronize the eufy Baby Camera

The eufy baby monitor camera moving on its own could be due to a pairing issue between the eufy baby monitor and the camera.

Follow these steps to resynchronize the eufy baby camera:

• Ensure the eufy Baby Monitor is turned on.
• Head to the menu settings from the page.
• Tap the Camera icon from the monitor tab.
• Press “Add Camera” and highlight a slot.
• Follow the on-screen steps to add a cam.

Bonus Tip: Test the Camera On Another Slot!

Consider adding the camera to a different slot on the monitor if the initial attempt fails, as this can identify potential issues with the connectivity.

The eufy Baby Monitor has up to 4 individual camera slots, meaning you can test the camera on each one to test for self-rotation. 

Note: To add the camera to a particular slot, highlight the option using the monitor arrows!

5. Factory Reset the eufy Baby Monitor

Unusual camera movements may occur due to a system glitch in your eufy baby monitor, which a factory reset can often address. 

All of the monitor settings will be reverted to the default state, along with any firmware corruption or other issues causing the movement.

Here’s how to factory reset the eufy Baby Monitor:

• Locate the reset hole on the back of the monitor stand.
• Use a small pin to press the monitor reset button inside.
• Hold the monitor reset button for a few seconds to reset.
• Charge the monitor with a 5V/2A adapter and a Micro USB.
• Allow eufy to charge for 3.5 hours and refrain from all use.

Note: You will be prompted to reconfigure the monitor initially after the reset is complete! 

6. Update the Firmware of the Baby Monitor

Outdated firmware might cause the camera of your eufy baby monitor to move unexpectedly by introducing software glitches that affect its stability. 

Updating the firmware on Windows for both the monitor and camera can solve these issues for models like SpaceView (T8300), SpaceView Pro (E8312), and T8321.

Update the Monitor Firmware:

Monitor SN starts with SN93701PU (SpaceView T8300): 

1. Download firmware from the SpaceView T8300 page.
2. Then, unzip the folder and find “Monitor_VXXX.bin”. 
3. Connect the monitor to the computer with a data cable. 
4. Next, copy Monitor.bin to the “SN93701PU” hard drive.
5. Then wait around 5–6 minutes and keep the screen on.
6. Check the version in the “Connect with Us” menu tab.

Monitor SN starts with SN93701PU (SpaceView Pro E8312, T8321): 

1. First, download firmware from the E8312 or T8321 tab.
2. Unzip the folder and then find the “Monitor_VXXX.bin”
3. Then, copy “Monitor.bin” to the “SN93701PU” hard drive.
4. Then, wait several minutes while keeping the screen on.
5. Verify the new version in the “Connect with Us” section.

Update the Camera Firmware

Camera SN starts with SN93700BU (SpaceView T8300): 

1. First, download the firmware from the SN93700BU page.
2. Then just unzip the folder and find “Camera_VXXX.bin”.
3. Connect the camera to your computer with a data cable.
4. Transfer “Camera.bin” to the “SN93700BU” hard drive.
5. Wait for ~20–30 seconds; wait for the camera to restart.
6. See the version in the “Connect with Us” monitor menu.

Camera SN starts with SN93700BU (SpaceView Pro E8312, T8321): 

1. Download firmware from the E8312 or the T8321 page. 
2. Next, just unzip the folder and find Camera_VXXX.bin.
3. Connect the camera to your computer via a data cable.
4. Transfer “Camera.bin” to the “SN93700BU” hard drive.
5. Wait for ~20–30 seconds or until the camera restarts.
6. Confirm the version in the “Connect with Us” menu tab.

Note: To maintain security, regularly check for new firmware updates on the eufy website!

7. Physically Prevent eufy From Moving

If the camera of your eufy baby monitor is moving on its own, physically blocking its movement can be a quick fix to stop the movement while still deciphering the problem. 

So, turn off the monitor, unplug the camera, and look at the pan and tilt joints to see where it moves.

Then, use strong adhesive tape, like duct tape, or a small soft object, such as a folded piece of cardboard, to wedge into the joint and hold it in place. 

Position the camera to focus on your baby’s crib, secure it, then plug it back in to test.

8. Determine if the Eufy Baby Monitor Is Hacked
