If we exclude the possibility of a hardware failure with your Beats Studio Buds, those are all the common suspects.
So, let’s move further with solutions and fix the issue in a matter of minutes!
How to Fix When Beats Studio Buds Keep Disconnecting?
Tip: We recommend following the steps in consecutive order…
1. Soft Reset the Beats Studio Buds
In most cases, the problem is simply a temporal bug with the Beats earbuds or Bluetooth device software (in most cases, the phone).
Such bugs can be easily resolved by simply soft resetting the earbuds, which helps clear out all conflicting glitches and refresh the connection with all devices.
Follow these steps to soft reset the Beats Studio buds:
- Put both your earbuds in the charging case.
- Locate the Power button on the case’s back.
- Push and hold the button until the LED flashes.

2. Reset the Bluetooth Connection
In some cases, your Bluetooth device remembers the connection with the last device they were connected to and vice versa.
This can frequently lead to connection issues, and to eliminate this possibility, you need to reset the Bluetooth connection by toggling ON and OFF Bluetooth.
To reset the Bluetooth connection on your device:
- Put both the Beats Studio Buds into the case.
- On your device, open the Bluetooth Settings.
- Toggle “OFF” the Bluetooth tab for 5 seconds.
- Then, toggle “ON” the Bluetooth switch again.
After you are done, simply connect your earbuds to your device.
However, it’s essential to verify that the device is not connected to an input, which can prevent the earbuds from connecting.
Important: It is essential to ensure that both Beats earbuds are placed near your device while attempting to connect them with the Bluetooth receiver.
3. Check your Bud’s Battery Level
Sometimes, your Beats Studio earbuds constantly disconnect because of the low battery level.
If your earbuds or mobile device are low on battery charge, they automatically disconnect due to the power-saving feature.
Therefore, you must verify at least 50% battery on your involved units.
To check the Beats Studio earbud’s battery power:
- On your iOS: Open the Battery Widget on your device and see the earbud’s battery level under “Today View.”
- On your Mac: Click the Bluetooth menu button from the top right corner and choose your Beats Studio Buds to see the battery level of the earbuds.
- On your Android Device: Launch the Beats mobile app on your phone and check the battery level of your charging case and earbuds.
Your Earbuds Battery Level is Low?
If so, then charge them for 30 minutes and then test.
Additionally, ensure that the Bluetooth device you connect with has sufficient charge to prevent power-saving features from impacting your earbuds connection.
Note: Turn off the battery-saver feature on your Bluetooth mobile!
4. Forget and Re-Pair the Buds
Another practical approach you should attempt against the disconnection problem is to unpair the earbuds from your device and re-pair them.
Sometimes, the problem comes from the Bluetooth feature, especially if you’ve just paired your earbuds to a new device.
So, “forgetting” the earbud’s Bluetooth and then re-pairing them clean will resolve all the connection-related issues and allow you to establish a fresh Bluetooth bond.
To forget and re-pair your Beats Studio earbuds, follow these steps:

5. Update Your Device’s Software
Many users have reported that updating your device’s software can help resolve disconnection issues with your Beats Studio Buds.
If your earbuds keep disconnecting, you must update your Bluetooth device software, as this will resolve all software and compatibility issues.
Follow these steps to update your device software:
- Head to your device’s “Settings” menu.
- Choose the General or System option.
- Locate and select “Software Update.”
- Lastly, if an update is available, install it.
If you wonder about updating the earbud’s firmware, know that the latest updates on the Beats Studio Buds are installed automatically.
This can be done when your earbuds are charging and placed near your Bluetooth device connected to the Wi-Fi.
Note: Updating shouldn’t take more than 15 minutes!
6. Hard Reset Your Studio Buds
If nothing has worked so far, we recommend a hard reset on your Beats Studio buds.
The reset will erase all your customized settings and refresh the connectivity with the Bluetooth devices.
It will allow your wireless buds to connect with the devices more effectively without disconnecting.
To reset the Beats Studio buds, follow the steps below:
- Place both your earbuds in the charging case.
- With the case open, locate the System button.
- Hold the System button for 15 seconds straight.
- When the LED flashes red/white, you can release it.
Note: When you see a flashing white light, it indicates that the reset is done, so you should re-try to pair the earbuds and observe whether they will disconnect.
7. Pair to Another Bluetooth Device
As a last resort, we highly recommend you connect your Beats Studio Buds with a different device, such as a smartphone, tablet, or even PC.
As long as the device has Bluetooth, you can test whether your Beats Studio Buds will keep disconnecting when paired with another device.
If the disconnection issue disappears with the new Bluetooth device, you may have an issue with your previous device settings.
If the problem persists even with the secondary device, the Beats Studio Buds themselves are problematic.
In that case, you must seek professional help!
Reminder: To pair your Beats with a different device, follow the instructions from step #4.
