Wondering why Eufy doorbell keeps going offline? Wonder no more and continue reading!
Your eufy doorbell is constantly going offline either because of the Wi-Fi network, the mobile application, or power issues altogether.
This short article will unwrap and help you understand how to resolve network-related issues on both hardwired and battery-operated eufy doorbells.
Let’s proceed with the guide to diagnose the exact fault!
eufy Doorbell Keeps Going Offline – Effective Ways to Fix!
Tip: Does rebooting the network router do anything?
1. Reset the eufy Doorbell’s A/C Supply

The first and most sensible solution is to perform a power reset.
This step applies for hardwired and battery-operated doorbells, but the methodology to discharge power differs significantly.
So, based on the type of your eufy doorbell, proceed with the appropriate instructions!
1.1 How to Power Cycle a Hardwired eufy Doorbell?
- Locate the power cord going into the doorbell’s rear panel.
- Now, unplug the cord from the outlet and the doorbell’s rear.
- Wait for a total of 60 seconds until eufy discharges fully.
- Reconnect the power cord and test your doorbell functions.
1.2 How to Power Cycle a Battery-Powered eufy Doorbell?

- Use a prying tool to remove the doorbell from the plate.
- Take off the two screws on the back using a screwdriver.
- Carefully lift off the back panel to expose the battery unit.
- Lift the battery from the battery bed and wait 10 seconds.
- Place the battery back in, reinstall the panel, and tighten it.
- Now, check if the doorbell can pair with the Wi-Fi and work.
Tip: The batteries of battery-powered eufy doorbells can be recharged through the doorbell.
2. Take Out the eufy Doorbell’s SD Card

Many users facing “offline” issues, in the long run, shared that removing the added SD card storage eliminates the problem.
Yes, it sounds like quite a weird solution, but why not try it?
You can find the SD card compartment on the side of the chime, but keep in mind that the product comes with a 16GG microSD.
2.1 How to Locate eufy Doorbell SD Storage?
The SD compartment should be on an identical spot for both hardwired and battery-operated doorbells.
Simply unmount the camera from the stand and thoroughly inspect all panels until you find a small opening that says “SD” on the top.
2.2 How to Eject an SD Card from the Doorbell?
To remove the card, press down on the release latch, and it should instantly pop out, allowing you to remove it.
Wait for several seconds and place the doorbell back on the stand, reconnect it if it’s hardwired, and check if the offline error is still there.
3. Switch Your eufy to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi

- All products under the eufySecurity series do not natively support 5 GHz and can only pair with a standard 2.4 GHz thread.
Hence, trying to connect your eufy doorbell to an incompatible frequency may be successful at first, but the unit will disconnect shortly after.
Follow these steps to change Eufy’s Wi-Fi to another frequency:
- Open the eufySecurity app and navigate to “Smart.”
- Tap “Device Control” → “HomeBase/Wi-Fi Chime.”
- After that, tap the “…” More button in the device tab.
- Go to “Settings” → “General” → “Wi-Fi Connection.”
- Select the corresponding tile containing “Doorbell.”
- Head to “Connection” and then press “Wi-Fi set up.”
- Follow the instructions to assign a new Wi-Fi network.
Tip: If you have a dual-band router, each Wi-Fi should have “2.4 GHz” or “5 GHz” in its name!
4. Change eufy to your Mobile’s Hotspot

To test if the eufy doorbell camera keeps going offline error is caused by the network or not, we recommend connecting the device to your smartphone’s hotspot.
You can activate your Android or Apple device’s hotspot within the Settings app but don’t forget to check the device’s SSID and password value.
Once you’re done, head back to step #3 and follow the steps to change the Wi-Fi of your doorbell.
Tip: If you’ve changed the password to your mobile’s hotspot, you can check the current value in the “Personal Hotspot” tab.
5. Inspect for Potential Network Issues
Whenever the eufy doorbell keeps going offline and not recording it could be due to an issue with the network or Wi-Fi.

There are several different ways to address such problems, so let’s take a quick look:
Tip: Get in touch with the ISP if the network issues persist for the other of your devices!
6. Check if eufy Doorbell is Overheating

So, irregular operating temperatures of the eufy doorbell could lead to severe hardware defects, persistent reception losses, and other problems of this gravity.
Your eufySecurity devices need to maintain stable temperatures, otherwise, the functionality will be constantly impaired, hence you’ll encounter different issues.
- To check the eufy doorbell’s temperatures, access the eufySecurity app, go to “Device Control,” access the tab of your doorbell and check the temperature values.
The temperature sensor should not be reading above 122°F (50°C), because this means your doorbell is overheating.
If so, immediately suspend the power supply to the device and wait for at least 10–15 minutes until the temperature drops.
Alert: Extended overheating may lead to serious defects in the doorbell.
7. Restore eufy to Factory Default Settings

Perhaps, all your camera needs is a clean factory reset to start working properly again and connect with the Wi-Fi securely.
Again, you would have to remove the eufy doorbell from the mounting plate to access the “Sync” button that activates the reset.
- Hold the “Sync” button on the rear panel of the eufy doorbell until the camera’s LED starts blinking rapidly in blue for approximately 15 seconds.
Without suspending the camera’s power supply, allow the factory reset to finish by itself in the next 1–2 minutes.
Note: If your eufy doorbell keeps going offline, test on a different internet connection or contact customer support for additional assistance.
