Eufy Baby Monitor Not Connecting to Camera – 8 Ways to Fix

Note: Verify the baby monitor is charged to maximum battery capacity before proceeding.

1. Redo the “SYNC” Process

Your eufy baby monitor might have experienced a software issue during the setup, or it might not have been on during the procedure.

That is why it’s recommended to redo your camera’s setup from scratch through the interface of the baby monitor.

For the synchronization to be successful, the baby monitor and camera must be plugged in or charged to maximum capacity.

• The eufy baby monitor has roughly 8–10 hours of battery charge
• The eufy baby camera unit requires to be plugged in at all times

Here’s how to synchronize the eufy baby monitor camera:

1. Hold the monitor’s “Power” button to turn on the unit.
2. Now, head to “Settings” and tap on the camera icon.
3. Tap “Add Camera” and select a slot for the eufy cam.
4. Hold the “SYNC” button on the eufy monitor’s camera.
5. Now, follow the on-screen steps to finalize the pairing.

Note: Verify that the camera remains within 10 feet of the monitor during the setup and only relocate the camera after the synchronization is complete. 

2. Recharge/Power Cycle eufy

Since it’s unclear whether the connection problem is with the baby monitor or the camera, we recommend performing a power cycle on both your eufy devices.

The eufy monitor runs on a rechargeable battery, so to power cycle it, you will need the device’s charger and the source.

Let’s start with a monitor power reset first!

2.1 How to Power Cycle eufy Monitor?

Here’s how to power cycle the eufy baby monitor:

1. Press your monitor Power button to shut off the device.
2. Connect the eufy monitor to the supplied USB charger.
3. Wait 10 seconds and hold the monitor’s Power button.
4. Release it after 10 seconds and press the button again.
5. Wait until the eufy monitor turns on and test the pairing.

2.2 How to Power Cycle eufy Camera?

The camera’s power cycle is really simple:

1. Unplug your camera’s adapter from the outlet.
2. Now, wait for about 60 seconds to discharge.
3. Reconnect and power on the eufy camera unit.

While the camera is unplugged, check if the power adapter is in good condition and secured on both ends, as this is essential to the camera’s power supply.

3. Add Eufy to a Different Slot

There could be a software problem with the baby monitor that’s preventing you from adding a new camera.

You can add up to 4 individual cameras and view them simultaneously through your eufy baby monitor.

Hence, if you’re encountering a setup problem with your first eufy camera, there could be up to 3 more slots available in the interface.

So, repeat the instructions from step #1, but this time, assign the camera to the second, third, or fourth slot in the “Camera” icon menu.

Also, repeat the setup for each of the available slots to determine if the camera will register successfully. 

4. Unpair Other Cameras from Eufy

When the eufy baby monitor won’t connect to camera, the problem could be interference-based, especially if this is not the first camera you add.

If you use the monitor in a multi-camera setup, we recommend freeing up all of the camera slots in your eufy monitor’s interface and retrying.

Here’s how to unpair camera/s from the eufy monitor:

1. Wake up the eufy baby monitor and go to “Cameras”.
2. Now, select the slot that has a registered eufy camera.
3. Next, open the options menu and press on “REMOVE”.
4. Repeat for each eufy camera registered on the monitor.
5. Attempt to re-add your new camera and test the setup.

Reminder: If the setup of your new cameras was successful, follow the instructions in step #1 to re-add each of your existing cameras. 

5. Update the Eufy Cam/Monitor

Unlike other baby monitors, all of eufy’s baby monitors use the so-called “smart” firmware that, if left outdated, could cause pairing issues with your camera/s.

To bypass potential obstacles, we will teach you how to perform a manual update, which is guaranteed to fix firmware problems.

For the update, you’ll need:

• A PC/laptop that’s connected to the internet
• A data cable for connecting the eufy monitor

Note: The firmware file that must be used depends on the monitor’s serial number and model.

5.1 How to Find Eufy Monitor’s Firmware File?

The most difficult part of the update is finding the correct firmware file for your monitor.

This involves accessing eufy’s official website, navigating to the “Firmware Download” page, filtering the OS files by serial number and make.

You can download the latest firmware for your baby monitor (3.7.1) through the eufy Firmware Page.

Once you have downloaded the update .RAR file, unzip it on your computer’s desktop or a folder to make the uploading easier. 

5.2 How to Upload Eufy Monitor’s Firmware?

Once you have the OS files on your PC, follow these steps:

1. Plug the USB data cable into the eufy monitor’s port.
2. Connect the other end into an input on your computer.
3. Allow the file transfer prompt that will show on-screen.
4. Now, open the “SN93701” drive in your PC’s directory.
5. Copy and paste the OS files into the monitor directory.
6. Wait for ~20–30 seconds until the files are transferred.

To check if the monitor’s firmware has been updated, navigate to the “…” menu and then tap on “Connect with Us” under the menu section.

Now, you can check if the monitor’s current version matches the one you’ve just uploaded.

5.3 How to Upload eufy Camera’s Firmware?

Along with the OS files you’ve downloaded for your monitor, there’s also the firmware for your eufy camera.

Similar to the monitor update, you will need a compatible USB cable to connect your camera to the PC and access the directory.

1. Connect the eufy camera to your PC over a USB.
2. Open the “SN93700BU” directory under “My PC”.
3. Find the Camera.bin file in the downloaded files.
4. Drag and drop the file into the camera’s directory.
5. Wait 15–20 seconds until the upload is complete.

You will be prompted to replace the new firmware files with the existing files of both your eufy baby monitor and camera.

Note: If the monitor refuses to launch after the update, format both drives and upload the camera’s files first. 

6. Solve Camera Power Issues

The eufy baby monitor’s camera might have run into issues with the power because of a loose adapter, a defective outlet, or even a faulty power brick.

Check the Connections

Start by inspecting the camera’s adapter connections on either end and determine if the cable is loose or unsecured.

Reconnect the camera and determine if the LED lamp stays on throughout the entire setup procedure in the baby monitor’s interface.

Change the Outlet

As the camera requires a consistent power supply, it must be plugged in at all times.

A potential outlet defect will prevent the product from powering on and, thus, will fail the setup periodically.

Try connecting the camera to a different power source and re-attempt the setup through the baby monitor’s menu.

Replace the Power Brick

Members of the eufy community repeatedly reported that the camera’s power bricks wear much quicker in comparison to the baby monitor or camera.

So, the camera could be powering off or restarting halfway through the setup because of the AC brick’s voltage shortages/fluctuations.

Well, the eufy camera uses a standard micro-USB connector, which is fairly common among low-voltage electrical appliances.

Determine which charger can replace your camera’s existing power adapter and test whether you can complete the setup and connect to the eufy monitor.

7. Initialize the Monitor OS

If you’re still unable to connect the camera, then perhaps it’s an underlying software problem with the monitor that only a factory reset can fix.

Search for the small “RESET” button on the rear panel and acquire a pin or a paper clip that will fit through the gap.

To start the reset, insert the pin and hold the button inside for roughly 15 seconds, then release once the display lights off. 

When your monitor powers on, try to complete the setup once again to check whether it works!

8. Reseat the Monitor Battery (Advanced)

Sometimes, reinserting the battery can resolve common issues, especially whenever your Eufy baby monitor is not connecting to the camera.

If the battery is not intact, your eufy devices will restart during the setup, causing the initialization to fail and preventing you from moving on.

Well, reinserting the battery cuts the power for a short period and resets your device’s ROM.

For the disassembly, you will only need a prying tool as well as a screwdriver to loosen the display’s screws.

Now, follow these steps:

1. Separate the display from the housing using a prying tool.
2. Now, gently lift the display and detach it from the housing.
3. Alert: Be careful not to damage or twist the ribbon connector.
4. Lay the display on a flat surface and unplug the connector.
5. Remove the six screws holding the display panel in place.
6. Unplug the red and black connectors from the motherboard.
7. Use the prying tool to pry away the battery from the housing.
8. Next, uninstall the old battery and wait for several seconds.
9. Place the battery back in and reconnect each ribbon cable.
10. Alert: Be careful not to mismatch the ribbon connector jacks.
11. Then, reinstall the display and turn on the eufy baby monitor.
